Shadow Bugs are the purple, round things that the members of the Subspace Army are made of. They are capable of copying a character's trophy and assume that character's appearance. While copying other characters, they appear purple and smokey while their eyes become a yellowish color. Shadow Bugs were created by extracting a substance from Mr. Game & Watch, leading Taboo to have him captured to become the source of the Subspace Army's soldiers.
