IMPACT MAJOR 2 was a Super Smash Bros. Ultimate major tournament held in Machida, Tokyo, on November 29th, 2025.

Tournament Summary[edit]

Although it was a pretty small major compared to Port Priority 9 and Kagaribi 14 the same month, acola's clean victory at this tournament secured his place as one of the best players in Japan and in the world. His victory at the Premier tournament Umebura SP 12 in September seemed to make the run for first place on the ranking more complex, not only being between Miya, who the Steve main defeated twice, and Doramigi, who was not present. However, disappointings results at Riptide 2025 and Kagaribi 14 ended his chance of being 1st or 2nd place. But this tournament decided between him and Hurt for the 3rd place, since it was the last major of the season. At this tournament, acola dropped only 4 games in total, losing 2 to Karaage, one to Rimu and one to Umeki, earning his first major win since the aforementioned Umebura SP 12.

As expected for a Japanese major, a important number of upsets deeply changed the bracket. Only half of the top 8 seeds made into the top 8. After losing to acola, #8 seed Rimu lost 1-3 to #14 seed M0tsunabE for 9th place. #2 seed Shuton got upset by #15 seed MarK (UF 6), continuing his great momentum since the start of 2025. Him, like M0tsunabE, made top 8. Shuton would then be eliminated at 13th after losing to #9 seed Tameigo (UF 5), who was also sent to loser's early by #41 seed Maipan (UF 4). #6 seed Leaf, after his stellar performance at Umebura SP 12, lost to #27 seed Umeki (UF 5) (who made top 8) and #46 seed Harupoyo (UF 6) for 25th. Lastly, #5 seed Akakikusu was upset very early by #69 seed yaya (UF 8, the biggest of the tournament) before being eliminated at 33rd by #18 seed Marcos (UF 4). The last non top 8 seed to enter top 8 is #12 seed Reno. The Byleth-Sephiroth dual main defeated yaya after his upset before losing in a close game 5 to #4 seed KEN. In an another 3-2, he stopped Tameigo's short loser's run at 9th to make top 8.

Umeki made his best performance since Sumabato SP 55 in February 2025. After upsetting Leaf, he also beat #22 seed Chon and #3 seed Raki (UF 7) in two close game 5 sets to make into top 8 winner side. He then sent to loser's Mark in winner's semis, who also defeated #7 seed Uame the round prior, before losing in a 3-0 to acola. He lastly won his runback against Raki 3-1, eliminated him at 3rd place, before losing to acola in Grand Finals 1-3. To rematch Umeki, Raki defeated #21 seed Kou at 9th 3-0, Uame 3-0 at 7th, KEN at 5th 3-1 and M0tsunabE at 4th 3-1, the Falco main having eliminated Reno at 7th and MarK at 5th.

Additionally, K.O. Kou's run is one of Little Mac's best performance in Ultimate's history. After losing to Raki in a 3-0, he won his sets against #24 seed Lunamado 3-1, #64 seed Yopi 3-0, Yaya 3-0 and lastly #13 seed Lax 3-1 before losing to Uame 3-0 for 9th place.
