Doramigi (ドラ右) is a Japanese Min Min player from Hyogo, Kansai. He is considered the greatest Min Min player of all time, the best player in the world in 2025 overall, and the youngest Smasher to be ranked #1, at the age of 15. His breakout event was at the supermajor Maesuma TOP 13, where he defeated several of Japan's best players to place 2nd, and became a rising star throughout the second half of the year and into the first half of the new year, culminating in his first major victory at Sumabato SP 49, becoming the youngest player to win a major in an official Smash game, at the age of 14. Since then, Doramigi has won several other majors, most notably Kagaribi 14 and LVL UP EXPO 2025. Online, Doramigi was ranked 9th on the 25th SP Smashmate season and has a highest rating of 2,536.

Tournament History[edit]

The Beginning[edit]

Doramigi first started attending tournaments in 2022, earning respectable placements at regionals, but it wouldn't be until 2023 where he entered into the spotlight. One of his first notable results was at Maesuma TOP 12, where en route to a 25th place, he upset Dabuz in pools. This was notable as not only was Dabuz ranked 12th on the UltRank 2022, but he himself had a prominent Min Min secondary. This was overshadowed by his breakout run at Maesuma TOP 13, where he would place 2nd, picking up incredible wins along the way. These players included Tea, Yoshidora, and notably Protobanham, the best Min Min player at the time. Doramigi would then defeat Kameme to make Grand Finals through Losers, culminating in an incredible popoff where Doramigi ran across the field in celebration. While Doramigi would be shutout by the victor Miya in both Winner's Finals and Grand Finals, many players noted how Doramigi had the more impressive run. In addition, Doramigi was one of the youngest players to ever make Grand Finals at a major tournament. Doramigi's run at Maesuma Top 13 was enough to rank him 43rd on the LumiRank Mid-Year 2023. Doramigi would then place Top 8 at two more Maesuma tournaments in the rest of 2023: a 5th at Maesuma TOP 14.5 "in Hyogo" and a 7th at Maesuma TOP 15 "FINAL". Doramigi's peaks (where his Top 20 head to head record was noticeably better than his Top 100 head to head record) and decent results at other tournaments allowed him to rise up to 41st in the LumiRank 2023.

One of Japan's Rising Stars[edit]

2024 would see Doramigi's consistency improve and his results explode. He would start the season with back to back Top 8s at Premier events, with a 7th at Umebura SP 10 and a 5th at KOWLOON 9 with Sumabato. At these events, Doramigi took notable wins on players like KEN, Glutonny, Zomba, Tea, and Yaura. He would then place single digit placements at multiple regionals and majors throughout the season, including his first overseas trip to Battle of BC 6. Doramigi would place 4th, taking victory over Monte, BassMage (with Jigglypuff being considered one of Min Min's more disadvantageous match ups) and to cap off, a dominant performance over Riddles. Doramigi would lose to the eventual winner Hurt (one of Doramigi's bracket demons at the time) and then be eliminated by Yoshidora. While Doramigi was seeing success, his season still had some bouts of inconsistency, such as a 17th at Sumabato SP 46, where he lost to Umeki and MASA. His worst result would be his 49th at Sumabato SP 47, where Doramigi would lose to mersenne prime number and then unfortunately for him, run into bracket demon Miya after he was upset as well. In addition, while Doramigi had been remarkedly consistent, a major win still eluded him. Things would look up for Doramigi at the tail end of the season. At the regional Kamisuma 24, Doramigi would pick up his first win on acola, the eventual #1 of the season. The most important event for him however, would be one of the final tournaments of the 2024.1 season: Sumabato SP 49.

Doramigi's run at Sumabato SP 49 saw him claim wins over several fierce opponents such as Kuroponzu, Raki, Ron, and then Raru to make it into Grand Finals. Raru would then make it to Grand Finals to face Doramigi once more and was on the cusp of reverse sweeping him. Doramigi would then manage to clinch game 5 and win his first major. Doramigi's victory was historical for several factors. Not only was his victory solo Min Min's first major victory, it was the first major victory for Min Min since ProtoBanham's victory at Smash Summit 5 in 2022. In addition, Doramigi was one of three new major winners on the last weekend of the LumiRank 2024.1 season, and most importantly, Doramigi became the youngest major winner across all official Smash titles, at the age of 14. With his success up to that point, Doramigi would skyrocket in placement and end the LumiRank 2024.1 season ranked 12th, officially taking ProtoBanham's title as the best Min Min in the world.

If 2024.1 was a success for Doramigi, 2024.2 was even better. At the first Premier of the season, Kowloon 12 with Kagaribi, Doramigi would upset Sparg0, one of the best players and a player notable in his dominance over Japan's best players. Doramigi would place 5th after losing to acola and to Sparg0 in the runback. Doramigi's next notable event would be at Maesuma'U22 2. While the tournament dropped from its major status due to DQs, Doramigi would take victory at the event and break his losing streak against Hurt in Winner's Finals and the second set of Grand Finals. Doramigi then placed 2nd at Sumabato SP 50, as while he reset the bracket against his rival Raru, he would lose the reset. Doramigi would however, hit a snag in the middle of the season, as he placed 33rd at Sumabato SP 51, losing to Fui and Mairudona H.O, marking his worst placement of the season. In addition, his second outing to North America was not as successful, as Doramigi would place 9th at both the Litvitational 3 and Cirque 4. Following this however, Doramigi would place no lower than 3rd for the remainder of the season, which included a 2nd place at UltCore Fourth. After falling early on to Ryuoh, Doramigi would make a massive Loser's run which included victories over 33Peranbox, Navy, Snow, TamaPDaifuku, Ryuoh in the runback, and incredibly, a victory over acola. Doramigi would then take out Yoshidora and reset the bracket against Raru, albeit losing reset once more. While Doramigi lacked a major win compared to the 2024.1 season, his results became more consistent and he was able to take wins on stronger opponents. Doramigi would end the season ranked 11th on the LumiRank 2024.2, just 0.2 points shy of making it to the Top 10.

Ascension to the Throne[edit]

While many anticipated for Doramigi to continue excelling in 2025, no one could have predicted how Doramigi's season would turn out. Doramigi's first trip to Europe saw him place a respectable 2nd at GSM}, where Lima would double eliminate him to win the tournament. Doramigi would win his next major in Sumabato SP 54 where after losing to Rarikkusu outside of Top 8, he would barrel his way into Grand Finals with wins over Raki, Gorioka, Toriguri, Kome, Tsubaki, and then winning both sets of Grand Finals against Rarikkusu. Doramigi would also place 2nd at the next supermajors he attended at Maesuma'TOP 1 and Sumabato SP 55, losing only to acola and Miya respectively (albeit picking up a win on the former in the first set of Grands). Doramigi's "weakest" performance was a 5th placement at KOWLOON 15 with Sumabato 15th anniversary and even then, it was a marked improvement compared to his prior seasons. While Doramigi was seen as a Top 10 contender, it wouldn't be until his next outing overseas where momentum started to shift in his favor.

LVL UP EXPO 2025 would be a momentous tournament for Doramigi and the season as a whole. Japan would notably underperform again after their showing at Battle of BC7 (an event where Doramigi did not attend). Hurt, a contender for #1, would go through a 2 month self-ban due to controversies in regards to playing online with a modded Switch. In addition, two of his biggest rivals in acola and Miya would both unexpectedly flame out at 33rd, and several other Japanese players in attendance would underperform or fail to make Top 8. Doramigi would rise to the occasion and be the only Japanese player to make Top 8 successfully, which included a dominant 3-0 over Sparg0, avenging his previous losses to him. Doramigi would then make Grand Finals after a close call with Kiyarash and reverse sweeping Zomba. Doramigi would then face off Onin after their loser's run of their own. Doramigi would go on to defeat Onin rather easily, with Game 4 of the set being an infamous 3 stock where Doramigi would take Onin's second stock at 25% after reflecting Onin's anvil back at them. LVL UP EXPO 2025 marked Doramigi's first Premier and supermajor victory, and with his consistency of the season thus far, it suddenly put him in contention for the Number 1 spot.

Doramigi's next event would be the first ever Superpremier tournament: Kagaribi 13. This event became the most stacked Ultimate tournament of all time, with 86 of the 2024.2's Top 100 being in attendance. With Doramigi being one of the forerunners for the throne, it was imperative for him to succeed. Doramigi would make his way into Top 24 successfully until Tweek upset him with a dominant 3-0. Despite the setback, Doramigi would be able to make Top 8 successfully with wins over MKBigBoss, Onin (which many noted how the previous supermajor's finalists were fighting for 13th at such a difficult event) and then win a close game 5 over Riddles, who was on the run of his life. In Top 8, Doramigi would easily 3-0 Glutonny but his run would immediately end, where Tweek once again eliminated Doramigi for 5th in the runback.

With acola winning Kagaribi 13 and effectively redeeming his underperformance at LVL UP EXPO 2025, it put him in the running for the throne once more. Doramigi's last event of the season would be an important one. At Sumabato SP 59, Doramigi made it into Grand Finals with victories over Raki, Yoshidora, and Raru. Hurt would then make it into Grands after avenging his loss over Raru. At that point of the season, despite Hurt's self-ban making him miss two of the most important events of the season, his dominant Head to Head against acola and lack of a severe underperformance compared to him and Miya meant he was still in good standing for the throne. Doramigi would then 3-0 Hurt, including taking out his Sonic counterpick in Game 3, winning him his 3rd major of the season. In the end, there were several minute factors that added for Doramigi to be able to claim the throne. Not only did Doramigi not miss a single major Top 8 (one of 3 players to do so), he was also one of few players to not take any sub Top-50 losses (his worst was Rarikkusu at #32, yet Doramigi still had the advantage in the head to head). While acola had won the largest event of the season, his weaker head to heads in addition to his lower attendance meant his LVL UP EXPO 2025 underperformance doomed him. Doramigi's first time in the Top 10 would see him claim Number 1 for the |LumiRank Half Year 2025, becoming the youngest ever Number 1 player across all Smash titles.
