Captain Falcon is a playable character in the Brawl mod Project M. He was remade to be nearly identical to his Melee counterpart in terms of attack hitboxes and animations.

Attributes

Changes from Melee to PM

Captain Falcon was slightly buffed from Melee to Project M due to some Brawl-based retained changes which increased his options.

  • Buff Neutral attack's Gentleman hit is now always separated from the rapid punches, allowing Falcon to act out of it faster after launching opponents. While there is still a big window of time where pressing the attack button results in the punches, it can be avoided by jab canceling.
  • Buff Aerial Raptor Boost now spikes foes and propels Captain Falcon with forward momentum if it lands, and can now grab the ledge. When used towards an edge from the ground, Captain Falcon now goes into the ending animation instead of instantly becoming helpless, allowing to grab the edge and come back to the stage.
  • Buff Landing lag for Raptor Boost decreased if the attack connects with an enemy in midair.
  • Buff Retains ability to grab foes on the ledge with Falcon Dive, like in Brawl.
  • Buff Falcon Kick is reversible, and has less endlag.
  • Change Falcon Punch can be turned around up to four times, though this is predictable and has no real practical use for competitive play. Additionally, each reversal resets the move's starting animation.
  • Change Up and down taunts have switched positions. When using down taunt, he now also speaks a silent "Yes!"
  • Change Connecting with a sweetspotted Knee Smash when a taunt input is held results in Falcon exclaiming "Yes!" (like with his Falcon Dive).

  • Captain Falcon's Up-B Throw animations were touched up
  • Captain Falcon's dash attack can slip off edges like in Melee
  • Captain Falcon's Side-B has a ground to air transition animation similar to Ganondorf's to allow him to grab edges backwards.
  • Captain Falcon's Up-B received physics adjustments to match Melee

  • Captain Falcon's Dash animation cleaned up
  • Captain Falcon's Forward Roll animation adjusted to be like Melee

  • Captain Falcon's Neutral-B turn occurs slightly later and can be performed up to four times
  • Captain Falcon's Up-B launch fire hit graphical effects restored

  • Initial Dash animation length increased by 1 frame to match Melee, improving moonwalk distance slightly
  • Turn Grab animation is longer to match other Turn Grabs
  • Fixed a bug on his Ledge Rolls that caused them to not free up the edge until the animations completely ended
  • Neutral-B additional turns can be prevented by holding B
  • Aerial Side-B trigger box adjusted so that the hit connects more reliably once triggered
  • Aerial Side-B now spikes

  • Side-B landing lag slightly reduced upon connecting with an opponent, now is the same for Side-B whiff or hit
  • Grounded Falcon kick endlag is slightly longer
  • Falcon Kick is now B-reversible

Forward tilt Round Kick 10% Sourspot, 11% Sweetspot Falcon kicks the opponent. The sweetspot is the tip of the foot.
Up tilt Wheel Kick 13% Falcon winds up his foot and slams it into the opponent.
Down tilt Crouching Kick 12% Falcon sweeps with a kick.
Dash attack Turbo Shoulder 10% Falcon tackles into his opponent.
Forward smash Overheat Elbow 20% Falcon elbows his opponents with fire.
Up smash Pinwheel Kick 8% First Kick, 13% Second Kick Captain Falcon does a double kick to the air.
Down smash Pendulum Kick 18% Front Kick, 16% Back Kick Falcon does a sweeping kick to both sides of him.
Neutral aerial Rotary Kick 6% First Kick, 7% Second Kick Falcon kicks his opponent twice in mid-air.
Forward aerial Knee Smash 6% Sourspotted, 18% Sweetspotted Known as, The Knee, Falcon does a low tragectory knee smash to his opponent. The sweetspot is large and is in the inital frames of the attack. It has electrical properties.
Back aerial Reverse Knuckle 8% Sourspot, 14% Sweetspot Falcon does a back hand punch. The sweetspot is his knuckles.
Up aerial Overhead Kick 13% Start and End, 12% Middle Peak Falcon does a bicycle kick to the opponent.
Down aerial Step On It 16% Falcon does a meteor smash to the opponent for large hitstun.
Grab Grab Grabs the opponent.
Pummel Captive Knee 3% Falcon knees the opponent. Fairly quick.
Forward throw Body Blow 9% Falcon hits the opponent with his arm.
Back throw Kickback 9% The opponent is kicked backwards.
Up throw Rising Palm 7% The opponent is punched upwards.
Down throw Throw Down 7% The opponent is slammed into the ground. This can be used to start a Chain grab.
Floor attack (front) Spin Kick 6% Falcon does a spin on the ground to kick both sides.
Floor attack (back) Breakdance 6% Falcon spins around to do a double kick.
Floor attack (trip) Double Punch 5% Falcon punches both sides.
Edge attack (fast) Flip Kick 9% Falcon does a flip-kick to the opponent.
Edge attack (slow) Slow Upper 10% Falcon does a slow Uppercut.
Neutral special Falcon Punch 23% When Far, 27% When Close-Up The infamous Falcon Punch. Falcon punches the opponent with a fiery falcon. Can be reversed up to four times.
Side special Raptor Boost 7% Falcon rams into his opponent and does a fiery uppercut. Can be used to edgehog
Up special Falcon Dive 5% Grab, 12% Release Falcon grabs his opponent and releases them with an explosion. If it connects, it can be used again.
Down special Falcon Kick 13% Grounded, 13% Air, 6% Landing Falcon does a kick to the side when on the ground, or does a ground-pound kick in the air. If used in the air after a double jump, the double jump is restored.
Final Smash Blue Falcon 10% Startup, 20% Hit By Car, 10% Return to Stage Falcon calls in his Blue Falcon. The opponent is hit and lands on an F-Zero track. They are ran over by the Blue Falcon for a lot of knockback.
