Beedrill (スピアー, Supiā, Spear in Japanese language versions) is a fictional creature in the Pokémon media franchise.

Creature description

Beedrill is a large, hornet-like Pokémon. It is one of the original 151 Pokémon that appeared in Pokémon Red and Blue. Its body resembles that of a hornet, with large insectoid wings and lance-shaped arms in addition to the stinger on its imposing abdomen. It evolves from the pupa-like Kakuna at level 10 onwards, which evolves from the larval Weedle at level 7 onwards.

According to the Pokédex, using all three stingers to jab at a target repeatedly, it can take down any opponent, then takes its fallen prey back to its nest for food. The stinger on its abdomen secretes the most powerful poison of its three pointed barbs. Its best attack involves flying around at high speed, striking with poison needles, then flying off. No one should ever approach the nest of this extremely territorial specie - if angered, they will attack in a furious swarm.
