You aimed the sheriff's gun by way of an eight-directional dial controller, which you would depress to fire. The goal of this frontier shooter was to protect the territory from various scoundrels and ne'er-do-wells.

In Super Smash Bros. 4

Sheriff appears as an Assist Trophy in both Super Smash Bros. for Nintendo 3DS and Super Smash Bros. for Wii U. When summoned, he fires in any of eight directions at opposing characters. The shots cannot be absorbed, but they can still be reflected they deal 14% damage. Sound effects from Sheriff play as he moves around.
