Within New England, the largest tournament activity can be found in the Boston metropolitan area, although tournament activity exists throughout the region.

New England has been home to an active Smash Bros. scene since the release; it was most famous as the home of KoreanDJ, one of the best players in the world during the pre-Brawl era. Although New England today is relatively weaker than the United States' other major regions in terms of playerbase, it is known for hosting one of the biggest college and university Smash scenes in the country, due to its large student population.
