Cavalier Clash 7 was a Super Smash Bros. Melee regional and Super Smash Bros. Ultimate supermajor event held in Charlottesville, Virginia from February 7th-8th, 2026.
Tournament Summary[edit]
One of the highlight runs of the tournament came from #12 seed Asimo, who had his birthday fall on the day of the tournament. Asimo's run led him all the way to Grand Finals, and included him defeating omega, Toon, Shuton, and most notably, #3 seed Hurt. However, Hurt eventually defeated Asimo in Grand Finals 6-1 to win the tournament. Hurt himself also had an impressive run, notably winning several tough matchups for Snake, namely PkChris and Syrup's Ness and acola's Mr. Game & Watch. With his second supermajor win of the season and high placements at the other 2026 majors he had attended, he became an early contender for the #1 position on the UltRank 2026, mirroring his initial dominance in the LumiRank Half Year 2025 season.
This event also saw notable runs from seeds #9 Shuton and #10 Tweek. After both players fell out of the Top 10 due to faltering performances and a long hiatus, respectively, both players rebounded and were able to finish in the Top 8. Shuton's run was notable as it was the first time he made Top 8 since DELTA 11, snapping an 8 month dry spell. His run included taking Zomba and Raflow, and he ultimately lost to Asimo and acola, the latter in a close game 5 set. Likewise, Tweek was sent to losers by Peabnut but went on a strong Losers run as well, including eliminating seed #4 Sparg0 for 13th in a clean sweep and then #13 seed Toon to make Top 8. Tweek ultimately finished 5th, losing the runback against Peabnut.
The event on the other hand, also saw some noticeable underperformances. Notably, #1 seed Miya lost to Raflow in Winners Top 24; though he made top 8, he was knocked out at 7th by acola, who himself was knocked into Losers by Peabnut after acola's controller disconnected in the final stock of the final game, forcing him to forfeit the stock. In addition, Sparg0 was upset by Lucas player SmashBros! outside of Top 64. Sparg0's early Losers bracket led to ShinyMark's early exit from bracket, as ShinyMark lost to Sparg0 in a reverse-sweep for 17th.
