The pig (ブタ, Pig) is a passive mob found in Minecraft.

Origin

Pigs are a passive mob in Minecraft that spawn on grass blocks in the Overworld when the light level is above 7. When killed, they drop between 2-3 pieces of raw/cooked porkchop and between 1-7 EXP points. They can also be ridden when equipped with a saddle.

In Super Smash Bros. Ultimate

As a costume

A pig appears in Round 7 of DLC as a paid Mii Brawler costume. To match the Mii Brawler's model, the pig is given a more humanoid appearance.

Trivia

  • The Mii Costume's chest is a mirror of the back and lacks the nipples found on on the actual pig texture.
  • In the Mii Costume Trailer, the pig faces off against characters trying to hit it with a fire attack, referencing a common in game technique of killing a pig with fire to pre-cook the pork-chops it drops.
  • The Mii Costume conceptually resembles the unimplemented Pigman mob, which was planned to be a humanoid version of the already existing pig mob.
