Pac-Man (パックマン, Pakkuman Pacman, originally Puck Man), occasionally stylized as PAC-MAN, is the main character in the Pac-Man series.

Character description

Pac-Man debuted in the arcade game, Pac-Man, in 1980. He initially began with few personality traits, reflecting his simplistic appearance in the games, but later installments in the series such as Pac-Land and Pac-Man World expand on the character and his backstory; in these games, he is shown to have a large family that he deeply cares about, and he is characterized as a relatively laid-back hero who is willing to help wherever he's needed. His relationship with his enemies Blinky, Pinky, Inky & Clyde have also changed over the years from being arch enemies, to allies of circumstance or even friendly rivalry.

  • Pac-Man is the second-oldest playable character in the Super Smash Bros. series, beaten only by Mr. Game & Watch.
    • He is, however, the oldest third-party character by a margin of seven years.
