hey y'all, my name is '''sora''' and i'm the main protagonist of the [[Kingdom Hearts (universe)|kindgom hearts]] series, created by [[wikipedia:Tetsuya Nomura|tetsuya nomura]] and made in partnership with [[disney]]. i was originally told that i was the only one to wield the legendary keyblade, but apparently that was all a lie. my life was a tricky situation. i'm going to tell you the backstory on why kingdom hearts doesn't make any sense.
During his quest, Sora obtains a mysterious weapon known as a {{iw|khwiki|Keyblade}}, allies with {{iw|khwiki|Donald Duck}} and {{iw|khwiki|Goofy}} to journey to various worlds in order to help each other reunite with their respective allies, and unravels the mysteries of both the Keyblade and the darkness that consumed the Destiny Islands and numerous other worlds.

once upon a time, i was a little boy on this [[khwiki:Destiny Islands|weird wacky island]], when i saw [[khwiki:Ventus|a bright glowing light]] and i hugged it for some reason. fast forward ten years, and i made new friends: [[khwiki:Riku|raiku]] and [[khwiki:Kairi|carry]].
Sora was born and raised in the {{iw|khwiki|Destiny Islands}}, a group of small tropical islands. As a newborn, Sora's heart would make contact with an unconscious {{iw|khwiki|Ventus}}, whose heart was fractured in an attempt to separate the dark part of his heart from him. Offering to tether their hearts together to save Ventus, Sora was able to rescue Ventus; however, this caused the dark part of Ventus, {{iw|khwiki|Vanitas}}, to bear Sora's facial structure. After the two merge, Ventus' heart clashes with Vanitas. When Ventus' heart is fractured in this battle as a cost of defeating Vanitas, Sora's heart offers for his heart to take shelter in his own body, so Ventus could regain his strength. Meanwhile, Ventus' friend Aqua hides him in their home, the Land of Departure, and transforms it into a new form called {{iw|khwiki|Castle Oblivion}} that will allow Ventus to stay hidden until he reawakens.


one day, raiku was like "i am too bored of this island. i wish to go out and explore new worlds." i asked him "why tho?" and he said "because i am too bored of this island." "everything make sense now" i said.
Unknowing of the decision his heart made, Sora would continue to live peacefully with his friends {{iw|khwiki|Kairi}} and {{iw|khwiki|Riku}}, alongside other children such as {{iw|khwiki|Tidus}}, {{iw|khwiki|Wakka}} and {{iw|khwiki|Selphie}}. The trio of friends desired to explore other worlds, so they built a raft to sail away from the Destiny Islands. The night before their voyage, however, an ominous event occurred. A strange darkness overtook the islands, and creatures known as the {{iw|khwiki|Heartless}} appeared. Desperate to protect the raft, Sora went to locate Kairi and Riku, the latter announcing that he was not afraid of the incoming darkness and allowing himself to be sucked into a {{iw|khwiki|Corridor of Darkness}}. However, thanks to Ventus' heart, Sora was then granted a magical weapon called the {{iw|khwiki|Keyblade}} in order to fight the Heartless, and found himself thrown through the universe.


then i met this [[khwiki:Ansem, Seeker of Darkness|weird hooded man]], who told me "darkness darkness" and then more "darkness". i don't understand what he means. i think he meant something along the lines of "your world f*cked yo" and i still don't understand what that means.
Awakening in a place called {{iw|khwiki|Traverse Town}}, Sora teamed up with {{iw|khwiki|Donald Duck}} and {{iw|khwiki|Goofy}} to find his friends, as well as [[khwiki:Mickey Mouse|King Mickey]]. Together, they would venture through various worlds in order to save the universe from the Heartless, led by {{iw|khwiki|Ansem, Seeker of Darkness}}, who sought to open the door to {{iw|khwiki|Kingdom Hearts}}, the source of all light. After fighting Ansem, now possessing Riku's body, in [[Hollow Bastion]], Sora ends up sacrificing himself to Kairi and the other {{iw|khwiki|Princesses of Heart}}, whose power he used to open the door. His sacrifice gives birth to his own Heartless, Kairi's Nobody, and his {{iw|khwiki|Nobody}}, {{iw|khwiki|Roxas}}, sharing the same facial features as Ventus. Sora is able to return from his Heartless form thanks to the bond he shared with Kairi, and with Donald and Goofy, the trio travel to the {{iw|khwiki|End of the World}} to defeat Ansem and seal the {{iw|khwiki|Door to Darkness}}, a doorway leading to the realm of darkness. He and Kairi end up separating, but not before Sora promises to Kairi that he will be back.


anyways, my world got f*cked yo. these [[khwiki:Shadow|weird dark things from my dream]] started invading the island, and i lost raiku and carry. luckily i was given [[khwiki:Kingdom Key|the legendary keyblade]] and was told that i am the only one to wield the legendary keyblade, which was a lie. anyways, i fought a random boss and got teleported [[khwiki:Traverse Town|to some wacky weird town]]. i met a [[khwiki:Donald Duck|duck that can only quack]] and a [[khwiki:Goofy|dog that can only speak german]] (i don't know what he means) and anyways, we traveled through various disney worlds, hoping to find our lost friends.
While finding a way back, Sora, Donald, and Goofy end up in Castle Oblivion, where they soon find out that their memories are fading or rewritten. While trying to figure out what is going on, Sora, Donald, and Goofy run into several members of {{iw|khwiki|Organization XIII}} that both try to stop and help them along the way. They also come across a girl named {{iw|khwiki|Naminé}}, Kairi's Nobody that had been hired by Organization XIII to mess up memories of Sora and his friends for the Organization's plans. After Sora, Donald, and Goofy defeat the castle's ruler, {{iw|khwiki|Marluxia}}, Naminé agrees to help restore their memories, but in order for their memories to be fully restored, she has to put them in a coma for one year.


i later found raiku, and it turns out he fell to the dark side. he was now saying "darkness", but i had no idea. he then called me an "idiot poopface" so eventually we fought. i defeated him, and he left behind his [[khwiki:Keyblade of heart|weird not-keyblade]]. i decided to test it out, and then i accidentally had an "ouchie ouch" moment and fell to "darkness" while i formed [[khwiki:Roxas|my other self]], who i will admit was very weird. thanks to carry, i was able to return to my human self.
Concurrent to Sora's recovery, Roxas is quickly discovered by the head of Organization XIII, {{iw|khwiki|Xemnas}}, who declares Roxas an Organization member and orders him to do various tasks. He also makes friends with two other members of the Organization: {{iw|khwiki|Axel}} and {{iw|khwiki|Xion}}. The latter is later revealed to not be a traditional Nobody, but a puppet {{iw|khwiki|Replica}} created around Sora's memories. Xion is eventually forced by the Organization to kill Roxas and absorb him to become a "complete" Sora, though Roxas defeats her with regrets. Roxas is then taken captive by Riku, led by {{iw|khwiki|Ansem the Wise}} under the pseudonym DiZ. Roxas then realizes that he must cease to exist and merge with Sora to regain his memories. After some initial resistance, Roxas willingly accepts his demise for the greater good.


finally, i arrived at [[khwiki:End of the World|the end]], where the weird hooded man was revealed to be mr. ansem himself. he talked more about "darkness". i don't believe him for one bit, and by the end of the day, he managed to obtained more darkn–just kidding he accidentally shallowed a bunch of light, and then he died. then i found out that [[khwiki:Mickey Mouse|mickey f*cking mouse]] had a [[khwiki:Kingdom Key D|keyblade]] too. my disappointment was immeasurable and my day was ruined.
Sora, now awake and with all of his memories intact, sets out on another adventure to take down the Organization members and Xemnas. Heading to {{iw|khwiki|The World That Never Was}}, Sora reunites with Riku and the two foil Xemnas's plans to merge with his artificial Kingdom Hearts, and are able to find themselves back home on Destiny Islands, fully reuniting with Kairi. In the process, they learn that Ansem is a separate being from Ansem the Wise, really a pseudonym belonging to a {{iw|khwiki|Keyblade Master}} by the name of {{iw|khwiki|Xehanort}}. Xehanort split himself into two beings: Ansem, his Heartless, and Xemnas, his Nobody, in an attempt to call forth Kingdom Hearts and re-initiate the ancient {{iw|khwiki|Keyblade War}}. Previously, he had attempted this by splitting Ventus and Vanitas apart, allowing them to later fuse to create the {{iw|khwiki|χ-blade}}, the very first Keyblade, which can summon Kingdom Hearts.


after sealing [[khwiki:Door to Darkness|the door that mr. ansem was trying to open]], me, donald, and goofy found ourselves wondering into a weird [[khwiki:Castle Oblivion|castle]], where we met another hooded figure, this time [[khwiki:Marluxia|in black]]. he told us that we were going to play a card game. i asked him <span class=plainlinks>"was it [https://yugipedia.com/wiki/Yu-Gi-Oh! yu-gi-oh!]? [[bulbapedia:Pokémon Trading Card Game|pokémon]]? [https://wikimon.net/Digimon_Card_Game digimon]? [[wikipedia:Uno (card game)|uno]]?"</span> then it turns out, [[khwiki:Kingdom Hearts Chain of Memories|it]] was one of the worst card games that i have ever played. it was so bad that we subjected ourselves into sleeping for a year to mentally recover from the game that we played. best news is that we can forget everything that we have done from there.
Later, Sora and Riku are tasked by {{iw|khwiki|Yen Sid}} to complete the {{iw|khwiki|Mark of Mastery exam}} to become Keyblade Masters themselves after sensing the return of Xehanort. It is later revealed by copies of Xehanort that he plans to assemble [[khwiki:Real Organization XIII|13 Seekers of Darkness]] that all carry a piece of his soul, becoming the true form of Organization XIII, in order to restart the Keyblade War. While only Riku becomes a Keyblade Master, Sora is still believed to be the one destined to save the day. Vowing to stop Xehanort, Sora manages to save Aqua from the {{iw|khwiki|Realm of Darkness}}, and uses the {{iw|khwiki|power of waking}} on Ventus in Castle Oblivion, after Aqua reverted it back to the Land of Departure. Together with Donald, Goofy, Mickey, Kairi, Riku, and {{iw|khwiki|Lea}}, the true form of Axel, they head to the {{iw|khwiki|Keyblade Graveyard}} to fight Xehanort's clones and his subordinates.


meanwhile, my weird other body was found by [[khwiki:Xemnas|mansex]], who rules a [[khwiki:Organization XIII|cult of some sort]], consisting of thirteen members, plus [[khwiki:Xion|somebody that should totally not even exist, and something i had no clue in regards to what they were named]]. anyways, after my weird other body wasted [[khwiki:Kingdom Hearts 358/2 Days|days]] spending on [[khwiki:Twilight Town|a clock tower]] eating some ice cream with [[khwiki:Axel|some friends]], being best friends and laughing, and telling the other that they were right, raiku managed to find them and use his "mega destruction dark ball of darkness and destruction". but it did not work. so he resorted to becoming ansem himself and suffocate him to dea–err i mean he was sent to sleep. i thought it was pretty funny.
Although the group manages to save {{iw|khwiki|Terra}} and Xion from Xehanort's grasp, and restore Roxas and his heart, Xemnas kidnaps Kairi and delivers her to Xehanort, who promptly destroys her after the group defeats the last of Xehanort's subordinates in order to craft the χ-blade. Using all their strength, Sora, Donald, and Goofy manage to defeat Xehanort in {{iw|khwiki|Scala ad Caelum}}, and stop his plot to reignite the Keyblade War. Sora then travels into {{iw|khwiki|The Final World}} in order to save Kairi, but at the cost of supposedly being lost forever.  


raiku then put my weird other body in a [[khwiki:Simulation Twilight Town|weird data town]] with some other dude, so they can eventually join my body to become a full body. it took a 6 hour tutorial for that to even be accomplished. and then my weird other body's friend decided to intervene, calling him an "idiot poopface", but he eventually left after finding that my weird other body can wield [[khwiki:Oathkeeper & Oblivion|two keyblades]]. seriously, why are keyblades being given to everyone else? like is any of this for real or not?
One year later, Sora awakens in a nighttime version of The Final World and discovers himself intact. He calls for anyone to answer him, and encounters {{iw|khwiki|Yozora}}, the protagonist of the fictional video game ''{{iw|khwiki|Verum Rex}}'' who was mentioned by a {{iw|khwiki|Nameless Star}} that Sora had met in the Final World. Yozora cryptically claims that he was sent to "save" Sora, and teleports himself and Sora to the city of {{iw|khwiki|Quadratum}}. A battle ensues in which Sora is the victor, and Yozora fades after realizing his power was not yet needed, something which a confused Sora asks.


after going through that, my weird other body finally agreed to join my body, and i woke up along with my friends. we continued my journey to fight more darkness, this time even weird bodies. we was fighting so many darkness that in fact, [[khwiki:Saïx|somebody]] had to tell me that i was doing what they had intended: getting more darkness to complete another [[khwiki:Kingdom Hearts|kindgom hearts]] that apparently nomura thought would be funny if there was another kingdom hearts. seriously, why the hell would they tell me this, if this in fact was going to make me not fight more darknesses? i'm not the naive one to fall for surprises. then i was taken aback when i realize that [[khwiki:Ansem the Wise|there was another person named ansem]]. seriously nomura, make up your damn mind.
Afterwards, Sora returns to the daytime version of the Final World, and his fate after that is unknown as his friends continue to search for him. Kairi learns that Sora has ended up neither in the realm of light nor darkness, but "somewhere on the other side," from which Ansem the Wise gathers that he has landed in the realm of fiction. With the help of the {{iw|khwiki|Fairy Godmother}}, the two learn about Quadratum, and Riku leaves for the city in search of Sora while Kairi remains behind in order to train under Aqua.


after fighting each of the cult of some sort members, i finally reach the castle that the cult of some sort was in, and i confronted their leader, mansex. he was talking about "emptiness" and "hearts". i don't believe him for one bit, and by the end of the day, he managed to gain a hea–just kidding me and raiku beat him to death. then i found that even carry can wield [[khwiki:Destiny's Embrace|a keyblade]]. can nomura please stop giving people a keyblade? i'm getting tired of it.
At some point in time in Quadratum, Sora wakes up in a luxurious apartment and immediately meets Strelitzia, who tells him that he has arrived in Quadratum and has been asleep for a week there. Sora then finds out that the Heartless are invading Quadratum and proceeds to fight a Darkside Heartless in the city.


after spending some time back on the island that was used to be swallowed in darkness, mickey mouse sent a letter to the beach, and it was [[Smash invitation|an invitiation to super smash br]]–actually wait a second. that was out of order. actually his letter was about his [[khwiki:Kingdom Hearts coded|really boring adventure that just rehashed everything from the first kingdom hearts game]]. also turns out that the "darkness"-loving ansem and the "heart"-loving mansex was just part of [[khwiki:Xehanort|zeenort]]. zeenort spend so much time fixated on the [[khwiki:χ-blade|χ-blade]], that by the time he was older, he was now just speaking "χ-blade", every so often, and i can't even undestand what he was even saying nowadays. now he was going to return thanks to me killing ansem and mansex. i was tasked by [[khwiki:Yen Sid|yen sid]] to stop zeenort, who i believe was also trying to say something about his name spelt backwards or something, but i left before he did so i never had the chance to hear what he was able to say.

to defeat zeenort, i had to participate in the [[khwiki:Mark of Mastery exam|mark of mastery exam]], and was given to [[khwiki:Eraqus|eraqus]] for this exam. he told me however that i need to "hit balls to pass test". unfortunately it was really difficult, and it turns out eraqus was dead anyways and i was just watching a old clip of him alive, so i went with yen sid's idea to venture the [[khwiki:Sleeping Worlds|sleeping worlds]] and learn the [[khwiki:Power of waking|power of waking]]. unfortunately the cult of some sort that i thought i disbanded reunited again to form the "real" [[khwiki:Real Organization XIII|cult of some sort]], this time with so many zeenorts. i cannot believe that even [[khwiki:Xigbar|mr. eyepatch]] was a zeenort too. even an [[Mario|italian zeenort]] exist? i passed out shortly afterwards.

raiku and mickey came to save me from being turned into a zeenort as well. then i woke up to find that raiku became a keyblade master. and then i found out that [[khwiki:Lea|axel, or whoever lea is]] can also [[khwiki:Bond of the Blaze|wield a keyblade]]. are you actually kidding me? i thought i was the only one to wield it. i thought that i was the only keyblade master. why is my life so unfortunate?
 
anyways, yen sid told me to go to disney worlds until they figure out my place in the story. so i went to disney world with donald and goofy. i had to subject myself to [[wikipedia:Let It Go|one of the most irritating songs that i've heard for years]]. then i heard that raiku and mickey were under attack. turns out [[khwiki:Aqua|aqua]], who raiku and mickey were trying to save, got hit by the "mega destruction dark ball of darkness and destruction" and became a zeenort. luckily we beat the sh*t out of her and she became not-zeenort. i also found out that aqua is also a keyblade wielder. i swear to god nomura, stop giving people keyblades.
 
then we went to this weird castle thing, and i might gotten ptsd from looking at it. aqua then transformed the castle into something else, and i'm very thankful for that. anyways, we found [[khwiki:Ventus|a weird body that kinda looked like roxas but was not roxas]] (come on nomura why would you do this?). then this [[khwiki:Vanitas|masked figured with a mask]] decided to fight aqua, while i tried to wake up the sleeping body. after trying several methods, i realize the best method was to set up an alarm clock. so i used my alarm clock on my phone to wake him and up and immediately he threw himself at vanitas, who just magically escaped. turns out, he's also a keyblade wielder. this did not sit well for me.
 
anyways, now that we had aqua and ventus, we could formulate a group that was originally suppose to be for the only person to wield the legendary keyblade. we me, raiku, carry, mickey, lea, aqua, and ventus, as well as donald and goofy, and together we set out to the [[khwiki:Keyblade Graveyard|keyblade grav]]–oh for f*ck sake nomura.
 
unfortunately we were ambushed and we all said "ouchie ouch" and perished. then it turns out that i was sent to [[khwiki:The Final World|heaven]], where i met [[khwiki:Chirithy|what looked like a weird cat]]. say, <span class=plainlinks>[https://wikimon.net/Yagami_Hikari why do they sound like another carry]</span>? anyways, i managed to go back in time because kingdom hearts make sense, and we pushed forward to defeat each of the "real" cult of some sort members. unfortunately while fighting mansex and moon-dude, mansex abducted carry, though in our feat of having to lose carry yet again we somehow managed to get my weird other self and the girl that was not even suppose to exist at all on our side again. oh and we did free [[khwiki:Terra|terra]]. wait terra and xion are keyblade wielders too? i hate it here.
 
after spending hours fighting bosses, we got ourselves to fight the other three zeenorts, the "darkness"-loving ansem, the "heart"-loving mansex, and the forgettable younger version of zeenort, idk what he's called again. they all died. and then zeenort kills carry to get his "χ-blade", and i'm really upset, so much so that i decided to jump into his body and hijack it with my friends. while inside his [[khwiki:Scala ad Caelum|world named to be as difficult to pronounce as possible]], zeenort decided to spur out talk about the "χ-blade". i don't believe him for one bit, and by the end of the day, he managed to use the χ-blade to open kingdom hear–just kidding me, donald, and goofy beat the sh*t out of him. then he tried to convince me that he was just an misunderstood villain, and i did not believe him for one bit, but everyone else forgave and believed him, so i decided to kill myself by saving carry. after replaying the ending of the game again with bonus content (come on nomura), i saved carry, and i disappeared for good.
 
and then i woke up, and it turns out that i was invited to play super smash bro–wait sh*t i forgot one more part. before i was even allowed to play smash, i was to forced to spend hours fighting each of the "real" cult of some sort members again, this time in data form. nomura, why are you subjecting me to fight these bosses again? then i was once again terrorized by [[khwiki:Yozora|a hard boss]] that threw me into an endless loop of me being killed for some reason.
 
after i defeated this hard boss, he gave me the invitation to join super smash bros. ultimate for nintendo switch. i happily joined, got summoned by mario, and officially became a smash broth–wait a second. if mario held my keyblade, that would mean–f*ck, he's a keyblade wielder too. this franchise makes no sense at all and i am done talking about it.

Sora (ソラ, Sora) is the main protagonist of the Kingdom Hearts series. Originally a normal boy who sought to venture from his home in the Destiny Islands and explore worlds, Sora embarks on a quest to reunite with his best friends, Kairi and Riku, after their home world was consumed by darkness.

During his quest, Sora obtains a mysterious weapon known as a Keyblade, allies with Donald Duck and Goofy to journey to various worlds in order to help each other reunite with their respective allies, and unravels the mysteries of both the Keyblade and the darkness that consumed the Destiny Islands and numerous other worlds.

Sora debuted in the Super Smash Bros. series as a playable character as the seventh and final character of Fighters Pass Vol. 2.

Origin[edit]

Sora was born and raised in the Destiny Islands, a group of small tropical islands. As a newborn, Sora's heart would make contact with an unconscious Ventus, whose heart was fractured in an attempt to separate the dark part of his heart from him. Offering to tether their hearts together to save Ventus, Sora was able to rescue Ventus; however, this caused the dark part of Ventus, Vanitas, to bear Sora's facial structure. After the two merge, Ventus' heart clashes with Vanitas. When Ventus' heart is fractured in this battle as a cost of defeating Vanitas, Sora's heart offers for his heart to take shelter in his own body, so Ventus could regain his strength. Meanwhile, Ventus' friend Aqua hides him in their home, the Land of Departure, and transforms it into a new form called Castle Oblivion that will allow Ventus to stay hidden until he reawakens.

Unknowing of the decision his heart made, Sora would continue to live peacefully with his friends Kairi and Riku, alongside other children such as Tidus, Wakka and Selphie. The trio of friends desired to explore other worlds, so they built a raft to sail away from the Destiny Islands. The night before their voyage, however, an ominous event occurred. A strange darkness overtook the islands, and creatures known as the Heartless appeared. Desperate to protect the raft, Sora went to locate Kairi and Riku, the latter announcing that he was not afraid of the incoming darkness and allowing himself to be sucked into a Corridor of Darkness. However, thanks to Ventus' heart, Sora was then granted a magical weapon called the Keyblade in order to fight the Heartless, and found himself thrown through the universe.

Awakening in a place called Traverse Town, Sora teamed up with Donald Duck and Goofy to find his friends, as well as King Mickey. Together, they would venture through various worlds in order to save the universe from the Heartless, led by Ansem, Seeker of Darkness, who sought to open the door to Kingdom Hearts, the source of all light. After fighting Ansem, now possessing Riku's body, in Hollow Bastion, Sora ends up sacrificing himself to Kairi and the other Princesses of Heart, whose power he used to open the door. His sacrifice gives birth to his own Heartless, Kairi's Nobody, and his Nobody, Roxas, sharing the same facial features as Ventus. Sora is able to return from his Heartless form thanks to the bond he shared with Kairi, and with Donald and Goofy, the trio travel to the End of the World to defeat Ansem and seal the Door to Darkness, a doorway leading to the realm of darkness. He and Kairi end up separating, but not before Sora promises to Kairi that he will be back.

While finding a way back, Sora, Donald, and Goofy end up in Castle Oblivion, where they soon find out that their memories are fading or rewritten. While trying to figure out what is going on, Sora, Donald, and Goofy run into several members of Organization XIII that both try to stop and help them along the way. They also come across a girl named Naminé, Kairi's Nobody that had been hired by Organization XIII to mess up memories of Sora and his friends for the Organization's plans. After Sora, Donald, and Goofy defeat the castle's ruler, Marluxia, Naminé agrees to help restore their memories, but in order for their memories to be fully restored, she has to put them in a coma for one year.

Concurrent to Sora's recovery, Roxas is quickly discovered by the head of Organization XIII, Xemnas, who declares Roxas an Organization member and orders him to do various tasks. He also makes friends with two other members of the Organization: Axel and Xion. The latter is later revealed to not be a traditional Nobody, but a puppet Replica created around Sora's memories. Xion is eventually forced by the Organization to kill Roxas and absorb him to become a "complete" Sora, though Roxas defeats her with regrets. Roxas is then taken captive by Riku, led by Ansem the Wise under the pseudonym DiZ. Roxas then realizes that he must cease to exist and merge with Sora to regain his memories. After some initial resistance, Roxas willingly accepts his demise for the greater good.

Sora, now awake and with all of his memories intact, sets out on another adventure to take down the Organization members and Xemnas. Heading to The World That Never Was, Sora reunites with Riku and the two foil Xemnas's plans to merge with his artificial Kingdom Hearts, and are able to find themselves back home on Destiny Islands, fully reuniting with Kairi. In the process, they learn that Ansem is a separate being from Ansem the Wise, really a pseudonym belonging to a Keyblade Master by the name of Xehanort. Xehanort split himself into two beings: Ansem, his Heartless, and Xemnas, his Nobody, in an attempt to call forth Kingdom Hearts and re-initiate the ancient Keyblade War. Previously, he had attempted this by splitting Ventus and Vanitas apart, allowing them to later fuse to create the χ-blade, the very first Keyblade, which can summon Kingdom Hearts.

Later, Sora and Riku are tasked by Yen Sid to complete the Mark of Mastery exam to become Keyblade Masters themselves after sensing the return of Xehanort. It is later revealed by copies of Xehanort that he plans to assemble 13 Seekers of Darkness that all carry a piece of his soul, becoming the true form of Organization XIII, in order to restart the Keyblade War. While only Riku becomes a Keyblade Master, Sora is still believed to be the one destined to save the day. Vowing to stop Xehanort, Sora manages to save Aqua from the Realm of Darkness, and uses the power of waking on Ventus in Castle Oblivion, after Aqua reverted it back to the Land of Departure. Together with Donald, Goofy, Mickey, Kairi, Riku, and Lea, the true form of Axel, they head to the Keyblade Graveyard to fight Xehanort's clones and his subordinates.

Although the group manages to save Terra and Xion from Xehanort's grasp, and restore Roxas and his heart, Xemnas kidnaps Kairi and delivers her to Xehanort, who promptly destroys her after the group defeats the last of Xehanort's subordinates in order to craft the χ-blade. Using all their strength, Sora, Donald, and Goofy manage to defeat Xehanort in Scala ad Caelum, and stop his plot to reignite the Keyblade War. Sora then travels into The Final World in order to save Kairi, but at the cost of supposedly being lost forever.

One year later, Sora awakens in a nighttime version of The Final World and discovers himself intact. He calls for anyone to answer him, and encounters Yozora, the protagonist of the fictional video game Verum Rex who was mentioned by a Nameless Star that Sora had met in the Final World. Yozora cryptically claims that he was sent to "save" Sora, and teleports himself and Sora to the city of Quadratum. A battle ensues in which Sora is the victor, and Yozora fades after realizing his power was not yet needed, something which a confused Sora asks.

Afterwards, Sora returns to the daytime version of the Final World, and his fate after that is unknown as his friends continue to search for him. Kairi learns that Sora has ended up neither in the realm of light nor darkness, but "somewhere on the other side," from which Ansem the Wise gathers that he has landed in the realm of fiction. With the help of the Fairy Godmother, the two learn about Quadratum, and Riku leaves for the city in search of Sora while Kairi remains behind in order to train under Aqua.

At some point in time in Quadratum, Sora wakes up in a luxurious apartment and immediately meets Strelitzia, who tells him that he has arrived in Quadratum and has been asleep for a week there. Sora then finds out that the Heartless are invading Quadratum and proceeds to fight a Darkside Heartless in the city.

In Super Smash Bros. 4[edit]

During Sora's reveal trailer for Super Smash Bros. Ultimate, it was revealed by Super Smash Bros. series creator Masahiro Sakurai that Sora was the overall highest-voted character on the Smash Bros. Fighter Ballot.[1][2] On a related note, Bayonetta's reveal trailer in December 2015 declared her as the winner of the Fighter Ballot among "realizable and negotiable characters", implying that Sora's inclusion at the time was impractical for unspecified reasons.

Trivia[edit]

  • Sora, Banjo, Kazooie and Steve are the only fighters who belong to a non-Japanese company. In Sora's case, he is owned by The Walt Disney Company.
  • Sora is the first and only fighter from a Square Enix-developed series to be fully voiced in both English and Japanese, as Cloud Strife, the Luminary, and Sephiroth are voiced only by their Japanese voice actors (Takahiro Sakurai, Mitsuki Saiga, and Toshiyuki Morikawa, respectively) instead of also being voiced by their English voice actors (Steve Burton, Rasmus Hardiker, and George Newbern, respectively).
    • Due to having all of his voice clips repurposed from preexisting Kingdom Hearts games, Sora is also the only fighter from a Square Enix-developed series to lack new voice clips for his appearance in the Super Smash Bros. series.
  • Due to the Kingdom Key's Keychain token being a Hidden Mickey, Sora is the only fighter whose model features a reference to a non-gaming icon.
  • According to Masahiro Sakurai, Sora's inclusion was made possible thanks to an encounter with a representative of The Walt Disney Company at a "certain game awards venue" (possibly the 2019 Tokyo Game Show, though the interview does not mention it by name). As a result, Fighters Pass Vol. 2's roster was increased from six fighters to seven (counting Pyra and Mythra separately) to accommodate his addition.[3]
    • Coincidentally, the Kingdom Hearts series itself was kickstarted by a near-identical circumstance, in which Shinji Hashimoto was able to pitch the idea of a crossover to Disney by stepping into an elevator with a Disney executive.[4]
  • Contrary to popular belief, Disney was actually supportive of Sora's inclusion in the Super Smash Bros. series.[5] According to Tetsuya Nomura, it was he, not Disney, who viewed Sora's inclusion as being difficult to achieve because of his concern over the crossover clashing with the Kingdom Hearts series' lore. Ultimately, Nomura viewed Sora's inclusion as "really great" following the outpouring of positive responses from fans.[6]
