Jingi 2 was a Super Smash Bros. Ultimate superregional held in Matsudo City, Chiba, on September 10th, 2023.
Tournament summary[edit]
In one of the most surprising runs in the Japanese Ultimate scene, #33 seed Fire managed to take the whole tournament without dropping a set, defeating #1 seed Umeki 3-1 (upset factor 10), #16 seed Metara in a reverse 3-0 (upset factor 3), #8 seed Akakikusu 3-2 (upset factor 5), #13 seed Tsubotsubo 3-1 (upset factor 3), and #2 seed Yamanaction 3-2 in both Winner's Finals and Grand Finals (upset factor 9). This marked the best run from a Tōhoku player in Ultimate history up to that point, made more impressive as Fire was only ranked 6th in Tōhoku, and is also the first-ever superregional win from a Tōhoku player.
