This is a list I've made in my free time here. This is a list of every movie, movie short, and television show every Smash character has appeared in to date. Please note that it only contains video-game related media, as well as more major appearances, so guest appearances in shows (such as MAD for example), will not be counted, despite characters from Smash making an appearance there. I try to keep this page updated as best I can, but that doesn't mean I haven't missed anything. If I missed any details (such as characters, media I skipped over, or newly-announced things I haven't yet heard about) or if you have any suggestions on how I could improve this page, please do not hesitate to let me know.

Wreck-It Ralph 2	3/9/2018		It's a major video game movie. Someone will appear....most likely Mario, because they did say they'd like Mario in the sequel. On March 24, 2016, Rich Moore stated that a sequel is still being planned. Moore also hopes to specifically include an appearance from Mario, citing a "good relationship with Nintendo".

Cancelled Movies

Super Mario Bros. 2	N/A	Mario, Luigi	While not outright confirmed at the time, a sequel was hinted at the end of the first movie, but would've been ultimately dropped due to the critical failure of the first movie. In 2013, a sequel was indeed confirmed planned, surviving through a webcomic written by Steven Applebaum and Ryan Hoss and illustrated by Eryk Donovan, titled "Super Mario Bros. 2". The film's surviving original writer, Parker Bennett, helped outline the webcomic's storyline, making it canonical to the film and finally revealing what would have been a sequel film.
The Legend of Zelda	Cancelled by 2007	Link, Zelda	Would've been the first movie appearance for Link and Zelda. In 2007, Imagi Animation Studios, who provided the animation for TMNT and Astro Boy, created a pitch reel for a computer-animated Legend of Zelda movie, though Nintendo didn't take the studio up on their offer due to the failure of the live-action movie adaptation of Super Mario Bros.
Metroid	Cancelled by 2007	Samus Aran	Would've been the first movie appearance for Samus. The movie was first agreed upon in 2003 with Nintendo being on board, but was cancelled sometime in 2007 due to Nintendo not having a good grasp of Samus's origin at the time, and didn't feel comfortable with the production team being in charge of creating her origin due to the commercial flop of Super Mario Bros.

Fan films

Fan films follow under a different set of rules compared to the other categories here: They must be notorious enough to be noticed by the original creators, and said creators have to publicly state their opinions about it. If a fan film does not meet this requirement, it will not be added to this list (exceptions can happen though, based on the notoriety of the film online). Additionally, any and all characters in this category will not follow under the "first movie appearance" habit, nor will any of them be removed from the "Unannounced" section if they appear here. If you happen to know of one that meets this requirement that isn't already here, please take it to the talk page with proof of the film's existence and proof that it meets the requirement.
