Jigglypuff is one of the earliest species in Pokemon.

Jigglypuff (プリン, Purin) is one of over 493 obtainable creatures in the Pokémon series of games.

See Jigglypuff (SSB) and Jigglypuff (SSBM) for fighter info.

Creature description

Jigglypuff first appeared in Pokémon Red and Pokémon Blue, and is noted for being one of the cutest Pokémon in the series. Jigglypuff is similar to Kirby in appearance, but with larger eyes, thinner limbs, and large, triangular ears, as well as a curled tuft of hair on on its head. It is most-known for its singing ability, which puts anyone that can hear its song to sleep (ironically, while Sing is one of Jigglypuff's greatest assets and signature move in the games and anime, it is relatively useless in the Super Smash Bros. series). This trait was used comically in the anime where the same Jigglypuff would show up every few episodes, attempt to sing for everyone nearby, and then, upon finding that they all fell asleep during the song, draw on the faces of the "audience" with a marker hidden in its microphone. It may have been this recurring role in the anime, coupled with its cute appearance, that made Jigglypuff a popular enough Pokémon to be playable in both Super Smash Bros. and Melee.

In Super Smash Bros.

As a playable character

Main article: Jigglypuff (SSB)

Jigglypuff is one of the four secret characters and is the easy one to get in the game. Her rest attack is considered to be one of the powerful moves in the game. Some of her moves are the same as Kirby's and has the same jump as Kirby. Jigglypuff is in the middle of the tier list, directly above Mario.

In Super Smash Bros. Melee

As a playable character

Main article: Jigglypuff (SSBM)

Jigglypuff is unlockable after clearing Classic or Adventure with any character using continues. Jigglypuff remains in the middle of the tier list, once again directly above Mario, and, like a few other characters, has a new Neutral B move, Rollout, which replaces her previous standard special move, Pound, which has become her Forward B move.

In Single-player

Jigglypuff appears on Classic on any Pokemon stage and sometimes appears in a Doubles, Giant or a Team Match. In All-Star Jigglypuff's stage is Poke Floats.

Trophies

Jigglypuff
This Balloon Pokemon invites its opponents in close with its big, round eyes and then puts them to sleep with a soothing lullaby. It puffs itself up when angry, and while it may look adorable, it's not to be trifled with: it knows several powerful techniques. Jigglypuff evolves into Wigglytuff after exposure to a Moon Stone.
Jigglypuff (Smash Red)
Jigglypuff's normal attacks are weak, and because of its light weight it's easily sent flying. However, with its incredible midair agility, it seems to dance when airborne. Rollout is a powerful speed attack, but be careful not to fly off the edge. Pound does serious damage, and it can also help as a recovery move. (B: Rollout, Smash B: Pound)
Jigglypuff (Smash Blue)
Jigglypuff can put its enemies to sleep if they are in range of its Sing attack, although the attack does not work on airborne foes. Rest puts Jigglypuff into a deep sleep, but at the instant it drops off, an intense energy force radiates out of the exact center of its body. If this force comes in contact with an enemy, look out! Rest is Jigglypuff's wild card. (Up & B: Sing, Down & B: Rest)

In Super Smash Bros. Brawl

While Jigglypuff has yet to be officially confirmed as a veteran for Super Smash Bros. Brawl, Solid Snake's voice actor may have inadvertently revealed her during an interview. While listing his favorite characters to fight, he mentioned Jigglypuff.
