From SmashWiki, the Super Smash Bros. wiki
Yaura (ヤウラ) is a Super Smash Bros. Ultimate Samus and Dark Samus player from Shikoku who is considered the greatest Samus and Dark Samus player of all time. He broke out onto the Japanese scene at the very beginning of the post-pandemic metagame, becoming the second player from Shikoku to achieve a significant out-of-region result since Ginko. He made his global ranking debut on the OrionRank Ultimate: Eclipse, and has been globally ranked in the top 50 since 2022, save for the second half of 2024 where he went on hiatus. He is the only Samus player in Ultimate to rank within the top 20 on a full-year ranking, doing so in 2023, and is the highest-ranking Samus player as well, ranking 11th in the first half of 2026. In addition, he is the only non-Smash 64 Samus player to win a major, doing so at Ikesuma 4, Sumabato SP 70, and Seibugeki 19.5. Online, Yaura achieved a Smashmate rating of 2,510.
Playstyle[edit]
Yaura is a strong defensive player, capable of forcing opponents to make mistakes through mistimed jumps. His charge shot cancelling allows him to keep opponents in a mental guessing game, and then lets him catch them off guard with his combos and aggression. Yaura can land combos off of grab or charge shot, and then finish with powerful aerials such as his back air. He also has strong recovery and edgeguarding tools, using his down special to change up his aerial momentum. However, Yaura can struggle in matches such as Olimar or Mr. Game and Watch where charge shot is not as effective.

- Yaura is known for disliking Olimar, partially due to the character being considered one of Samus' worst matchups. He notably ranked Olimar as the #1 character in the game several times.[1]
