A round of Smash Tour in action using the normal map size.

Smash Tour (ワールドスマッシュ, World Smash) is a new game mode in Super Smash Bros. for Wii U. It is similar to a board game, in which players use Mii characters to move around the board. The gameplay is similar to the Mario Party and Fortune Street series of games. Moving around the board allows players to collect playable fighters, which will be put into use during battles initiated by landing on the same space as another player. The characters used during battles are used in the order they were collected on the game board, and can be stolen from other players by defeating them. Smash Tour also uses power-up items, similarly to Smash Run. Also similarly to Smash Run, random events can occur, and items can be acquired during play. There are three different map sizes to play on - small, normal, and big. The minimum amount of turns is 15, and the maximum amount is 25.

The winner is determined by a Stock battle at the end of the game. Every fighter that the player has collected up to that point will each count as one stock; once a fighter is defeated, the player's next fighter is loaded until they have no fighters left.

List of stat boosts

The following items can be found throughout the game board. Each item has its own use, and will help the player in some way during the subsequent fights. Additionally, every item can be found in different sizes, which presumably alters how much of each stat will be boosted. There appears to be a maximum of 1000 arbitrary points for each category.

Icon Name Description
SmashRunSpeed.png Speed (移動, Movement) A green item resembling a boot. Known to boost dashing speed; may also boost walking and air speed.
SmashRunJump.png Jump (ジャンプ, Jump) A yellow item resembling a wing. Increases jumping height (includes midair jumps height, and even wall jump height), also appears to increase falling speed.
SmashRunAttack.png Attack (通常ワザ, Normal Technique) An orange item resembling a boxing glove. Boosts power of all normal attacks.
SmashRunSpecial.png Special (必殺ワザ, Special Technique) A red item shaped like a starburst. Boosts power of all special moves. Additionally, some special moves may gain increased range or a shortened charge time.
SmashRunArms.png Arms (投げ・アイテム, Throw/Item) A purple item resembling a sledge-hammer. Increases strength of projectiles, item attacks, healing effects from items, and throws. Additionally, grabbing range is increased and the user is less likely to drop items when attacked.
SmashRunDefense.png Defense (防御, Defense) A blue item resembling a generic shield. Makes it more difficult to launch characters; it is currently unknown whether this is an increase in weight or a decrease in knockback taken (which may also result in flinch resistance). Additionally, the shield becomes harder to break and the timing for a perfect shield becomes more lenient.
