Franklin Badge
The Franklin Badge is an item for Super Smash Bros. Brawl and originates from the EarthBound universe. When equipped, the user will automatically deflect to all projectile attacks while the item lasts. It is very small and hard to see it attached to a player. This causes problems for opposing players who don't pay attention. This can also work against the player using the Franklin Badge, as it may be difficult to notice when it disappears.
The Franklin Badge was an item obtainable early in the EarthBound/Mother games. Named after Benjamin Franklin, it was capable of reflecting electricity-based attacks back at it's caster. The design used in Super Smash Bros Brawl is based on the real life Franklin Badge that was given out as a promotion for Mother and Mother 3.
"Reflect" appears as a mode in Special Brawl; it is assumed to be a permanent Franklin Badge on all characters.
