Franklin Badge
The Franklin Badge is an item for the upcoming Super Smash Bros. Brawl, game, which originates from the EarthBound universe. When equipped, the user will be immune and deflect to all projectile attacks. However, the item is only temporary. It is very small, and is hard to see it attached to a player. This causes problems for opposing players who don't pay attention. This can also work against the player using the Franklin Badge, as he may have trouble spotting it disappearing. Characters will attach it to themselves, usually on their chest. But some, like Kirby, will attach it to other places, including their head.
The Franklin Badge was an item obtainable early in the EarthBound/Mother games. Named after Benjamin Franklin, it was capable of reflecting Electricity based attacks back at it's caster. The design used in Super Smash Bros Brawl is based on the real life Franklin Badge that was given out as a promotion for Mother and Mother 3.
