Show Me Your News
Show Me Your News (abbrieviated as SMYN) is a weekly podcast created by SWF member Youko. It was created on July 7, 2007 and was formerly known as The Dojo, but was changed due to confusion with the website Smash Bros. Dojo, also called The Dojo. The new name was named after Youko's main, Captain Falcon and his trademark taunt "Show me your Moves!", and was first coined by Fawriel.
Every Sunday, Youko goes through "The week that was", recounting all the updates on The Dojo website in a detailed and thought out podcast. Each episode also included other segments, usually sent in by other SWF members.
As of September 30, 2007, SMYN is in its second season, which includes newer segments in place of some of the previous segments.

Episodes
Pre E3: The first episode of the podcast, origianlly aired on July 8, 2007. Youko reviews Assist Trophies, Bowser and his Final Smash, Giga Bowser Transformation, and the Bridge of Eldin. The Brawl Viewpoint comes from Youko himself and is centered on what we could expect from Nintendo concerning Brawl at E3 2007.
Post E3: Originally aired on July 15, 2007, Youko reviews what happened at E3 2007 concerning Brawl. He also reviews the release date and the stage Smashville. Who's In begins its first episode and reviews King Dedede of the Kirby series, Plusle and Minun of the Pokémon series, and Sonic the Hedgehog of the Sonic series. The Brawl Viewpoint comes from Blackadder, and centers on Ganondorf and any changes that could be made if he enters Brawl.
This World: Originally aired on July 22, 2007, Youko reviews Deoxys and the chances other Pokémon have as either playable characters or as a Pokéball Pokémon, Samus' Final Smash, Zero Laser and her transformation into Zero Suit Samus, and "This World..." Youko also begins Show Yourself with his own personal profile. The Brawl Viewpoint comes from Cless-Mint and centers on the music updates and possible Fire Emblem character inclusions.
This was the first episode to include the "Youko Barbershop Quartet", singing the Pokémon Stadium theme song. This was also the first episode to use the new name of "Show me your News", which has remained the name since.
New Physics: Originally aired on July 29, 2007, Youko reviews Rumble Falls, Footstool Jumping, and Knuckle Joe as an Assist Trophy. Who's In re-reviews King Dedede of the Kirby series and has a face-off against Falco and Wolf from the Star Fox series. The Brawl Viewpoint comes from colbusman and centers on the inclusion of third-party characters and what it means for SSBB.
The Youko Barbershop returns this week with a rendition of the Fountain of Dreams theme.
Subspace Emissary: Originally aired on August 5, 2007, Youko reviews Ike and other Fire Emblem characters' chances, Castle Siege, and the Subspace Emissary. Show Yourself features Rhyme, as he talks about his hopes for Brawl and his Smash background. The Brawl Viewpoint comes from Bli33ard and centers on what a stage creator would be like and the ability to make your own stage.
This is the first episode to feature "Youko Unplugged", where Youko plays a version of the Hyrule Temple theme.
The Letdown: Originally aired on August 12, 2007, Youko reviews the items Smoke Ball and Franklin Badge, new changes to heavy characters, like Ike and Bowser, and the updates concerning the Kid Icarus franchise, which includes Pit's Final Smash, Palutena's Army. Who's In reviews Diddy Kong and King K. Rool of the Donkey Kong series, as well as possible Assist Trophies from the same series. The Brawl Viewpoint comes from egruntz and centers on online play.
Youko Unplugged returns to end the episode, and features Youko playing the Yoshi's Story: Ending on his guitar and singing vocals.
Stickers, Stickers, Stickers: Originally aired on August 19, 2007, Youko reviews Pokémon Trainer, Tether Recovery, and Stickers. Show Yourself features 2nd Stamp, as he discusses his mains and any hopes for Brawl. The Brawl Viewpoint comes from SamuraiPanda and centers on balance between characters in Brawl.
The Youko Melee Sound Effect Contest premiered this week.
The Golden Week: Originally aired on August 26, 2007, Youko reviews Diddy Kong, the song Animal Crossing: Go K.K. Rider!, and the Subspace Army with the boss Petey Piranha. Who's In reviews Ridley and Dark Samus from the Metroid series. The Brawl Viewpoint comes from Super Smash Master and centers on Japan-only characters in Brawl.
The winners of the first Youko Melee Sound Effect Contest were announced, and they were SniperRy, colbusman, and 2nd Stamp.
Gliding to New Beginnings: Originally aired on September 2, 2007, Youko reviews Superspicy Curry, Gliding, and WarioWare. Show Yourself features BHLMRO, as he discusses his differences from other smashers and his main. The Brawl Viewpoint comes from Moon Monkey, and centers on Final Smashes.
Youko gives a preview of a music sample he's arranging for his guitar based on The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time music selection.
Character's Serenade: Originally aired on September 9, 2007, Youko goes over F.L.U.D.D., Pokemon Stadium 2, and My Music. Who's In reviews Lucas from the EarthBound series, Krystal from the Star Fox series, and Lucario from the Pokémon series. The Brawl Viewpoint comes from Snakz, and centers on the Subspace Emissary.
This episode includes "Youko Unplugged" for the third time, with Youko playing on his guitar his own rendition of some of the songs from The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time, which he calls "The Hero of Time Overture."
Cold Sacrifices: Originally aired on September 16, 2007, Youko reviews the Battleship Halberd, Ice Climbers, and Special Brawl. Show Yourself features egruntz as he discusses his history with Smash and his main. The Brawl Viewpoint comes from colbusman and centers on Special Techniques, which include Gliding, Tether Recovery, and Crawling.

Snake? Online! BRAWWWWLLL!!!: Originally aired on September 23, 2007, Youko reviews the numerous Subspace enemies, Solid Snake, which also includes his Special moves and the Metal Gear Solid: MGS4 Love Theme (Smash Bros. Brawl Version) music selection, and Wi-Fi Multiplayer. Who's In reviews Megaman of the Megaman series, Captain Olimar of the Pikmin series, and Geno from Super Mario RPG: Legend of the Seven Stars, as well as reviewing chances some veterans have of returning to Brawl. The Brawl Viewpoint comes from Aeronite's Kiseki and centers on retro (or past) stages.

Trophies at Dawn: Originally aired on September 30, 2007, this is the first episode of the second season. Youko reviews Trophies, the Final Smashes Rocketbarrel Barrage and Triple Finish, and Tourney Mode. Roundtable premieres this week, as Youko and SamuraiPanda discuss their hopes for Brawl, online, and Snake's impact on Nintendo's relations. The Brawl Viewpoint comes from Piffman2 and centers on Alternate Costumes. Easter egg was a song that Youko had supposedly wrote.
Samus Takes Her Clothes Off: Originally aired on October 7th, 2007, Youko talks about Lucas, Co-op play in The Supspace Emissary, and the new Snake videos and the stage, Shadow Moses Island. Mailtime debuts this week and Youko answers questions about Halo 3, his favorite Wii game and game of all-time, and a possible Secondary Adventure Mode. The Brawl Viewpoint comes from Starphoenix and centers on Music in Super Smash Bros. Brawl.
Youko's Roommate Quote of the Week appears as the easter egg and also includes a brief discussion of Youko and his roommate talking about a Kirby/Master Chief crossover character.
Feeling Blue: Originally aired on October 14, 2007, Youko talks about Pictures, Sonic the Hedgehog, and the delay of Brawl until February 10, 2007. Roundtable this week has Youko and SamuraiPanda discussing the Nintendo Fall Conference, gameplay videos from various gaming sites, and what to expect at E for All. The Brawl Viewpoint comes from Pyroloserkid and centers on Trophies.
The easter egg is Youko and his roommate arguing about what is better, Super Smash Bros. or Halo.
E for Brawl: Originally aired on October 21, 2007, Youko talks about Princess Peach's Final Smash Peach Blossom, Home-run Contest, and Wii Remote controls. Mailtime has Youko answering about the HAVOK engine in Brawl, his superpower choice, and Sonic's voice actor controversy. The Brawl Viewpoint comes from egruntz and centers on E for All.
The King and the Kong: Originally aired on October 28, 2007, everything is centered within the Roundtable, and this is the first episode to not feature The Rundown. Roundtable this week has Youko, SamuraiPanda, and colbusman discussing what happened at E for All, the possibilities of video replays, and the advantages of a better Sweet spot for ledges in Brawl, while including the updates of King Dedede and PictoChat. The Brawl Viewpoint comes from Bli33ard and centers on the various modes in SSBB.
Very Scary Ruins: Originally aired on November 4, 2007, Youko and SamuraiPanda go over The Summit, Classic Mode, and Stage Builder in Roundtable. Mailtime has Youko and SamuraiPanda answering their favorite comic strip, food, and thing ever. The Brawl Viewpoint comes from X Guardian Ace and centers on Brawl's Tournament Mode.
Through the Foxes and Flames: Originally aired on November 11, 2007, Youko, SamuraiPanda, and Piffman2 go over Fox's Misfortune, Gray Fox, Lucas' special moves in Roundtable. Mailtime has questions that centers on Online play, what Wii games they own, and Super Mario Galaxy. The Brawl Viewpoint comes from Scribble and centers on Female playable characters.
I Wanted to Explain Them Again: Originally aired on November 18, 2007, Youko, SamuraiPanda, and Gimpyfish go over the Three Different Taunts, Handicap, and Spectator mode while Gimpyfish gives some Brawl info from E for All in Roundtable. The Brawl Viewpoint comes from colbusman and centers on the "Four Kinds of Control."
Now That's Just Cold: Originally aired on November 25, 2007, Youko and SamuraiPanda go over Training mode, Color Changes, and the Ice Climbers' and Lucas' Final Smash, Iceberg and PK Starstorm in Roundtable. Mailtime has questions that centers on their favorite stage and thier likes and dislikes about Brawl so far. The Brawl Viewpoint comes from Al Calnos and centers on Sega and Konami.
As an Easter egg, Youko revamps SamuraiPandas voice to make it sound deeper. He also makes a faster higher pitched Mailtime intro same for his Hero of Time Overture and him singing the Pokémon theme.
Segments
The Rundown
Included in every episode, Youko chooses three of the updates in which he will talk in detail about. In the first part, he'll quickly state his opinion on those that "didn't make the cut." Then he'll dive into the three main updates of the week, in which he'll state both his own and SWF members' opinions on the updates. However, the Rundown was not written for Episode 17 and Youko decided to cancel the Rundown until further notice
Brawl Viewpoint
Sent in by members of SWF in either audio or text format, this is a chance for the members to try out their own opinion on what SSBB already has or really needs. This is a popular segment, as many members have sent in their opinion on very different matters, from the Subspace Emissary to third-party characters.
Roundtable
Youko and SamuraiPanda discuss recent topics in Brawl in an unscripted, very loosely outlined discussion. The discussion is run through Ventrilo, despite the fact that the two go to the same university and have actually met in-person in order to discuss the segment concept. This is a type of discussion that was lacking in season one of SMYN, but brings a lot of variety to the show in season two. Starting with episode 17, Roundtable included a third speaker in the mix and has replaced The Rundown until further notice.
Mailtime
Youko reads questions sent to him from SWF members. These questions can be about anything members wish to ask the host about. After he reads and answers a few questions, Youko will ask a couple questions of the audience to be answered in the thread - this concept, generated by SWF member Somasu, helps the fans learn more about Youko and Youko learn more about the fans.

Who's In
Once a bi-weekly segment by SWF member Sariku.uchiha, it was cancelled when Season 2 started. In this segment, Sariku would give his personal views on characters other members wanted him to review. Although he was one of the first people to provide a voice to the podcast, he was criticized for providing a more "personal" view and giving reviews that sounded like he didn't study up on the subject, including the infamous "Wolf killed James McCloud." However, his last review, featuring Megaman, Captian Olimar, and Geno, was well received by members of SWF.

Show Yourself
Once a bi-weekly segment by members of SWF, it was cancelled when Season 2 started. This segment asked for members of SWF to send in audio submissions of them talking about themselves. They could choose what they would talk about. Most members would choose who they mained in Melee and when they started to play Smash, but some would also branch into other fields, like recreational activities.
The last segment aired on September 16, 2007.
Easter Eggs
Easter eggs usually occur at the end of the episode, and have ranged from Youko singing to quizes.
Youko Barbershop Quartet: First aired on July 22, 2007, Youko himself plays multiple parts (not at the same time) of himself singing various renditions of songs from SSBM.
Youko Unplugged: First aired on August 5, 2007, it features a rendition various songs played by Youko on his guitar, his most famous being the Hero of Time Overture.
The Youko Melee Sound Effect Contest: First aired on August 19, 2007, Youko gives five different Melee sound effects that members of SWF can try and guess. Winners are announced in the next episode.
Impressions: First aired on September 16, 2007, Youko does a slew of impressions from different shows and video games.
Pokémon Bottom Ten: An easter egg shown on Youtube that was mentioned during the September 23, 2007 episode.
This easter egg sparked some light controversy over its slightly lewd nature compared to SMYN, which resulted in the Youtube links being taken down from the cast discussion thread.
Youko's Roommate Quote of the Week: First aired on September 23, 2007, Youko's roommate at the University of Michigan gives us a single quote to all SWF members. This quote does not reflect the ideas of Youko himself.
Inside Jokes
All Clocks!
During episode 19, while Youko and SamuraiPanda were going over the Items from Previous Installments update, they thought it would be hillarious to have the match set to all clocks becuase they thought it would slow everything down all the time. Since then, the joke has been used in every Roundtable since. Youko has emphazized the desire for a SMYN t-shirt saying All Clocks several times.
Clapping with One Hand
During episode 21, Youko supposedly showed off his ability to clap using 1 hand. He states that you do it by flailing your hand around. A t-shirt has also been suggested for this joke by SamuraiPanda.
Controversy
Who's In
It all started in Sariku's very first review with King Dedede, stating "King Dedede is just a clone of Kirby...with a hammer." This began the controversy of Sariku not doing any research on the subject and just stating his own opinion instead of the opinions of SWF. After massive critique, Sariku decided to re-review the character, stating that he has an alright chance of appearing. Other such problems came from the Metroid Week, where Sariku said Ridley has a very good chance of being a boss character. He defended himself saying that he said Ridley could be a playable fighter, but that didn't change the fact he formerly presented. The last major critisism came when Sariku said that Wolf O'Donnell may have possibly killed Fox McCloud's dad, James McCloud. However, his last segment was highly praised, due to a more "structured" presentation and actually knowing the facts of each character.
Stating info in audio form
When Youko started posting in the SmashBlog, more people began listening to his podcasts. But instead of enjoying it, they formally stated that Youko is just saying what is on the Smash Bros. Dojo, in audio format. Youko defended himself to those statements, but the whole argument can be found in here.
