Tournament summary[edit]

This event is primarily known for its low tier upsets, the most notable of which occured on top 8 seeds. The biggest shock of the tournament came with Zomba's underperformance as the 1st seed, first losing to Hikari before being knocked out of bracket at 25th by Kay Yun, one of his worst ever placements by seeding. Kay Yun was on a lengthly losers run himself, also defeating PkChris before falling to Bubbs for 13th. The other top 8 seeds to fall short were 8th seed Fhantum, who lost to Virgo and Karflo for 33rd, and 6th seed Bruho, who fell to Mr_Thugz and Jakal for 9th.

Alongside Kay Yun's surprise performance, Free KayFlock double-eliminated 7th seed Just Blue and defeated 2nd seed Syrup with a shocking 3-0. Despite this upset, Syrup rebounded in losers and went on a 7 set losers run, defeaing Free KayFlock in the runback and winning the event over Wrath in grand finals.
