- This tournament marked Hungrybox's first major victory since Apex 2010 nearly five years prior, ending a long winless streak where he was infamous for frequently getting top 4 placements in majors while falling short of winning the tournament.
- This tournament was notably the first time that Mew2King and Armada failed to win Melee doubles and the end of their near 4 year winning streak, losing to Shroomed and SFAT in winners semis and Leffen and MacD in losers semis, placing 4th.
- This is the tournament where the term for Diddy Kong's infamous combo was coined, as Manny would constantly scream "Hoo-Hah" every time Player-1 executed the combo on Hungrybox
