VGBootCamp (fully named Video Game Boot Camp, often abbreviated as VGBC) is a live-stream/media producing company and crew founded at the end of 2009 by GimR and Aposl. They primarily stream and upload videos regarding Super Smash Bros., but they have been involved with other scenes as well, such as Rivals of Aether and Street Fighter V. The company is considered one of the most prominent, if not the most prominent, livestreaming groups in all of competitive Smash, having been involved with streaming countless events throughout its existence, including those in the EVO, Apex, GENESIS, and The Big House series. In addition, the company has also organized several events, including the Supernova (formerly Super Smash Con), Kagaribi, Pound, and Glitch series, as well as the weekly series Smash @ Xanadu, considered one of the most prestigious weekly series in North America, and the Smash World Tour circuit. Outside of organization, VGBC has also sponsored several Smashers, most notably aMSa.
Due to their prestige, VGBootCamp has had a significant impact on the competitive scene. Several of their tournament series, most notably Supernova and Kagaribi, have gone on to become among the largest tournament series in all of Smash. In addition, VGBootCamp was known for popularizing the Brawl mod Project M by running it at Xanadu, though they eventually stopped running Project M events and removed existing Project M videos due to the shaky legal status of Project M being a risk to VGBC as a business.[1] Finally, many of the most popular tournament sets and matches of all time were uploaded to the VGBootCamp channel, including MkLeo and Tweek's Grand Finals set at EVO 2019 and Leffen and Chillin's Salty Suite at Apex 2015. Conversely, the company has also been involved with several controversies, most notably with the cancellation of Smash World Tour 2022.

Trivia[edit]
- On July 30th, 2016, almost 12 thousand videos had their name changed to "SF5 Smash 4 - Serge (Lucario) Vs. Darkfall (Link) SSB4 Tournament - Smash Wii U". This was confirmed as a mistake by GimR, as they were recommended an experienced uploader by many sources; however, the uploader had messed up on his first video.[2] This has since been largely rectified, though some videos still have the erroneous names for various reasons, such as information being lost to time, insufficient records, and more.
