Undertow, retroactively titled Undertow 2021, was a Project+ supermajor held in Sandusky, Ohio on September 11th, 2021. The event served as a replacement for the Project+ event that was intended to occur at Riptide.[1][2] It is the first supermajor to use Project+ and is also the decade's largest Project+ event.
The Doctor became the first Mario player to win a major Project M/Project+ tournament.

Trivia[edit]
- The phrase "Shadow Tournament" was frequently used to describe this tournament, as it was an unofficial companion to Riptide that was conducted practically in secret to not draw the attention of Nintendo. While this tournament is not the first of its kind in those aspects, the phrase quickly gained traction among the community, and now all tournaments that fit this description are referred to as shadow tournaments.
