Friends playing a match on Battlefield.

With Friends is one of 2 multiplayer modes on Wi-Fi in Brawl, the other being With Anyone. In the With Friends mode, the player can only play with friends that they know the Friend Code of and have registred on their Friend roster. Unlike With Anyone, records are actually kept and names will be seen. Opponents will be able to see the player's icon and comments about themselves before battle. The number of ways the player can play is also much more expansive.

In addition to normal Brawls, the player can also play co-op Home-Run Contest and Multi-Man Brawl. During normal Brawls, the player will also have much more customization options, such as shouting out short, predetermined messages by taunting.
