Shy Guys (Japanese: ヘイホー, Heihoo) are found in the Yoshi's Story stage of Super Smash Bros. Melee. They can also be found in certain stages in Super Smash Bros. Brawl.

Character description

A Shy Guy in Super Smash Bros. Melee takes the appearance of a classical Shy Guy from the older Mario games. The Shy Guys in Melee wear red clothing that covers their body. They have a black belt around their waste and wear blue shoes. They have a propellor on their backs that allow them to fly around. The most notable feature of the Shy Guys are the white mask they are wearing. The white mask contains two holes for their eyes and another hole for their mouth. The modern version of Shy Guy appears in the Mario Circuit stage of Brawl.

Shy Guy appears as both an enemy and an ally in the Mario games. Shy Guy originally appeared in Super Mario Bros. 2 as a common enemy. He has also appeared as an enemy in games like Yoshi's Story and also come in different varieties. Shy Guy also appears in the Mario sports titles. He was a playable character in the game Mario Power Tennis and Mario Superstar Baseball. Shy Guy also appears as a host and supporting character in the Mario Party series.

Shy guy appears as both an enemy and a trophy in Melee. The subspecies of Shy Guys, the Fly Guys, can sometimes appear on the Yoshi's Island stage carrying a food that can be dropped bby attacking. A trophy of them can also be get.

Shy Guy was intended to be a playable character, but was cut for some minor reasons.

Shy Guys that can be seen driving Go Karts appear as Mute City-style hazards in Mario Circuit and Fly Guys can be seen flying in Yoshi's Island.
