It says the most famous cheat is Sonic and Tails in Brawl. But it also says the most famous cheat is Sonic and Tails in Melee. The Brawl one is incorrect and should be changed. Smash Bros is Best 21:08, 2 May 2008 (UTC)

This page is-a useless[edit]

Strong Delete: I'm with Semicolon on this one. The rumors are simply opinions and aren't even important anymoar! Also, the Sonic and Tails rumors were april fools jokes as well as Toad. To use the master hand in SSB, one would need an action replay! That's what I need to say on teh subject. Anyone agree? Blue Ninjakoopa Talk to me 22:48, 25 September 2008 (UTC)

Neutral. Well, not many of these subjects are known to people. Besides, the Sonic and Tails rumor is already in the Sonic the Hedgehog universe article. MarioGalaxy {talk} 22:53, 25 September 2008 (UTC)

Neutral Leaning Torwards Keep. I've known the Sonic & Tails rumor for a while now. I'd say it's worth having an article (along with a few more), but I'm against Master Hand in SSB. Although I've heard of the Toad Rumor somewhere before. - Doggy Guy (talk) 23:12, 25 September 2008 (UTC)

Personally I think that this page is quite interesting, and I don't think it should be deleted. But thats just my opinion. --MysteryHeff TALK 11:27, 26 November 2008 (UTC)

Keep: This page is very useful. Would you like to see someone put up a page, say, about Toad, how he is a "Secret Character", and how to unlock him? Then some sensible person would come along, delete the page or change it to say he was a rumor in Melee, and he is NOT in the game. An edit war would soon ensue. I know I'll regret saying this but why not add a section on Geno detailing how people think he wasn't added because of Square, those hacks on YouTube that make him a toggle on the Random button, and how the rumor might also tie to the cutting of Beware the Forest Mushrooms. --RoyboyX (talk) 21:46, 28 August 2011 (EDT)

The rumors on Geno possibly appearing in Brawl have already been mentioned here. Toa 95 (talk)
I know, but there's more depth to them than there is Mega Man. People think that Nintendo might have asked Square to let them use Geno, but they weren't allowed and so they might have scrapped Beware the Forest Mushrooms because of that. --RoyboyX (talk) 22:00, 28 August 2011 (EDT)

Article name[edit]

I propose moving this back to List of rumors because much of the content focuses on rumors which turn out to be false. Sonic being playable in Melee is a rumor, not a fact because he is not playable in Melee. Unlocking Master Hand and Metal Mario without hacking in SSB is also untrue. For similar reasons, this article should also not be named List of little known secrets. Mousehunter321 (talk · contributions) 20:22, 2 April 2012 (EDT)

For reference, this article was originally called "List of Rumors", but was moved to its current location "List of miscellaneous facts" as a small April Fool's joke. It's being moved back right now. Its been moved. Move along now. --- ReiDemon, Author Extraordinaire, 20:51, 2 April 2012 (EDT)

US/UK spelling rule[edit]

How does it go? I made an edit earlier changing 'rumour' to 'rumor', but then I came to realize that such an shuns the editor who placed the information there to begin with and reverted myself. There are Wikipedia articles that have US and UK spelling variants co-exist (that is relevant since we, like most wikis, follow Wikipedia as an example in some ways), so should it be a general rule for them to be allowed on the same article? Or should only one variant of the word be used throughout the entire article? Discuss. Blue Ninjakoopa(Talk) 14:25, 28 May 2012 (EDT)

Since the title here uses the US spelling, it's only consistency for the section titles to be US spelling as well. Omega Tyrant TyranitarMS.png 14:32, 28 May 2012 (EDT)

2 out of 3[edit]

Just want to point out, perhaps the Tweet count being stuck at 8,807 is the result of lagging in the Twitter database. Not saying this proves the rumor true or anything. --RoyboyXRoyHeadSSBM.png Talk 16:29, 30 May 2012 (EDT)

True, but fetching a single number based on a single property (in this case, the user in question) is one of the cheaper database operations and is unlikely to be laggy. Toomai Glittershine ??? The Bold 17:51, 30 May 2012 (EDT)
Well, if it was, which is VERY unlikely, true and that it was lag, 2 out of 3 probably meant 2 of the 3 he wants in it ARE NOT going to be in the game, since Mega Man WAS confirmed to be in it.MegaMCAlly (talk) 13:21, 19 July 2013 (EDT)

Namco Employee rumor.[edit]

This was a single "Prophet" on Gamefaqs, not a rumor. One topic does not make a rumor and it's especially not a rumor when nobody believed the person in the first place. -- 02:38, 19 March 2013 (EDT)

I think it belongs on here. It's no different from any other rumor on this page. But, before I re-add it, I want to see what some others have to say. ChuckNorris24.png 17:16, 17 May 2013 (EDT)
No one's responded and since there is no real reason to remove it, I am re-adding it. ChuckNorris24.png 15:54, 7 June 2013 (EDT)
One guy claiming to work for Namco doesn't do a rumour, it's far from the very definition. Also, the fact that one thing he 'leaked' so far turned out to be correct is irrelevant; I can do the same thing. I'm a psychic and I can prove it: I sense that you've been going to school, know someone who has a pet, and it even appears you have a history of playing video games. Am I spooky, or what? - Ceci n’est pas un Smiddle. 16:23, 7 June 2013 (EDT)
The majority of the rumors on this page are just people claiming they know information about an SSB game. I don't see how this is any different from the others. ChuckNorris24.png 17:16, 7 June 2013 (EDT)
A rumour constitutes a somewhat widespread, unconfirmed claim. Thus, one person appearing out of nowhere making these claims does not make a rumour, no matter to what degree he pretends to be a Namco employee. - Ceci n’est pas un Smiddle. 17:41, 7 June 2013 (EDT)

Chuck, for this to be covered here, the rumor has to be widespread, and not be restricted to a single thread on a single site. Stop readding it to the article, unless you can show us that this was prevalent elsewhere. Omega Tyrant TyranitarMS.png 03:09, 13 June 2013 (EDT)

I did a quick Google search. It's been covered on Mind of the, It's been mentioned on ign message boards, Latinos, Smash Boards, and many others. I'd say it's widespread enough to be on here. ChuckNorris24.png 08:38, 13 June 2013 (EDT)

2 out of 3 thought[edit]

This article states that the 2 out of 3 rumor was "proven false". But what if Isaac from Golden Sun actually appears as playable and Geno not? Or even Vice Versa? Then the rumor would be true! So technically, the rumor isn't proven or disproven true. (Un-User) 15:24, 3 February 2014 (EST)

Even if what the rumour claims turns out to be true, the rumour itself is false because what it claims to have occurred (Sakurai making a tweet and retracting it) was proven to have never happened. Toomai Glittershine ??? Le Grand Fromage 15:47, 3 February 2014 (EST)

Quick Question about Falco[edit]

Where did that image come from? Sure looks real to me. If he comes in and has that artwork, than it's true, right? (Un-User) 15:24, 4 February 2014 (EST)

He isn't there, which means it's lie. It was also a popular lie, therefor it's a rumor. Even if he comes in with that artwork, by some strange coincidence, he wasn't there, on the Japanese site, so it's a lie - a popular lie. Which means it's a rumor. -- 21:44, 5 February 2014 (EST)

Umm, hasn't the dumb "Halibuton" rumor been proven false? I mean, the 6TH anniversary of Brawl has come and gone, with no Nintendo direct anywhere! 16:01, 6 February 2014 (EST)

Where did that Pac-Man picture come from? We need to mention where in this page. (Un-User) 13:40, 8 February 2014 (EST)

Re Monsieur Crow[edit]

First off, welcome back. Second, I suggest we have Lucina, Falco, Pac-Man and Palutena share a section, so like Leaked(?) Characters. RoyboyX Talk 18:29, 8 February 2014 (EST)

I see you, RoyboyX.
My main concern with the article isn't that the article is becoming disorganised (on the contrary, I'd argue that a game-by-game model is probably the neatest we can accomplish), but rather, that the article is going to become too SSB4-heavy; the section already contains nine different rumours while the game is still in development, whereas in the eight years since Brawl's announcement, we also have nine. In the coming months, there's obviously going to be even more rumours, making things only more chaotic in the section.
I'm thinking that we might have to find a way to distinguish between "notable" and "non-notable" rumours, but I can't think of a way to do so that would prevent this article from either shrinking or doing nothing. I considered splitting this article much like our old Beta elements article, but the 64 and Melee sections would have too little to stand on their own in that regard.
That's all.

Ganondorf's voice[edit]

On Takashi Nagasako's Super Mario Wiki page, it states he voices both DK and Ganondorf in SSB4. Should we add that here? 15:30, 25 February 2014 (EST)

No, any user there could have just stated that and had no one revert them. Omega Tyrant TyranitarMS.png 19:48, 25 February 2014 (EST)
He/she may have a point though. How do we know that Takashi himself didn't state this? We might as well mention it here. (Un-User) 16:38, 26 February 2014 (EST)
"How do we know that Takashi himself didn't state this?"
This is just dumb. If the guy said anything anywhere about it, then it can be sourced. You have no such source, thus as far as everyone sees, he never stated such. And a random statement on a Wiki added by a random user (that should have been reverted already) does not at all constitute a "notable rumor". This page is not for every little thing that pops up everywhere, it's only for rumors that are particularly widespread or have some other notable trait to them. Not confirming anything 100% but according to IMDb, a list of voice actors have been unveiled. Such as Jim Walker as Fox, Antony Del Rio (Kid Icarus: Uprising) as Pit, Jessica Martin as Samus Aran, etc. Should we confirm this or something among those lines?

Regarding a rumor proven true kkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkk[edit]

This is directed to Monsieur Crow, and only Monsieur Crow. You know that Lucas and Ness thing? Well, that was actually not very wide-spread, and then proven true. I think that this "rumor" isn't worth enough to mention here. I think it would make more sense to, instead, mention this on Ness' Melee page and Lucas' character page. 16:07, 14 March 2014 (EDT)

If memory serves, this guy worked on the bulk of that section, with me only making a few grammatical edits (if any at all). That said, I believe the rumour began its spread with the reveal of Lucas in Brawl, and it has seen some revival due to speculation over SSB4's unrevealed roster, thus making this a notable rumour. Also, the fact that the rumour was eventually proven true doesn't change the fact that it started as a rumour.
Outside of this, Lucas's page on the Wiki already mentions the rumour, but Ness's doesn't. I see no problems with including this bit on the aforementioned page, though. Be bold.

Black Mage[edit]

There's a rumor going around that a Black Mage screenshot has been leaked. It is a fake to me. Here's where the rumor began. Also, I've found some "leaked" screenshots about Shulk from Xenoblade Chronicles and Mewtwo. --Mr.Santana Lopez (talk) 09:50, 18 March 2014 (EDT)

While it is interesting to see the variety of faked character reveal images, none of your aforementioned rumours have significant enough spread to warrant mentioning on this article. In general, we want to see some significant spread for rumours (i.e. appearances in notable newssites, significant discussion on forums like SmashBoards, etc.) before they're placed on the page; alternatively, they could have some form of "uniqueness" that helps them be diffrentiated from other rumours (such as the Lucina hoax, which showed that Brawl hacks can be used to manufacture rumours).
That's all.

"E-Reader Leak"[edit]

Apparently someone "leaked" a bonus disc along with E-Reader cards that were supposed to unlock new characters. These cards were "meant to appear" at some sort of con Nintendo was going to. The character that was "unlocked" was Leon Kennedy. However, some SmashBoards users appear to have debunked it, but this isn't completely understood. Should this be in the main article or should we wait a little longer and see what happens? Link: 08:16, 26 March 2014 (EDT)

While this is an interesting rumor, it doesn't seem to have any notable spread associated with it, especially since the discussion about it seems to peter out at the end of the page it's posted on.
If it starts making it rounds on other sites like AiB or is even covered by gaming websites, however, those could be grounds to include it on the article.

Super Smash Bros. 6 Rumor[edit]

Sounds like nonsense to me. This is the fourth iteration of Smash Bros., not the fifth. Why bother calling it Super Smash Bros. 6? --EpicWendigo (talk) 19:18, 9 April 2014 (EDT)

Sakurai has called these games the "fourth and fifth" iterations of Smash Bros on multiple occassion. Still, I doubt theyd start on the next one so soon. FirstaLasto 20:40, 9 April 2014 (EDT)

I love how the first comment is "Are you sure this wasn't voice acting for All Stars?". This is a thing I saw on a website. It calls the games Super Smash Bros. Ultimate, and shows us Kraid's Lair as a theme. Notable enough? Bug Man Stan (talk) 13:17, 15 April 2014 (EDT)

It ain't notable. Fan remixes for stage music is absurdly common, so it becomes absurdly difficult to tell if it's a legit leak or not. In addition, leaking a musical piece for SSB4 is nowhere near notable enough to warrant a page on the Wiki because we really aren't going to learn much from Nintendo's musical choice. There is a leaked roster photo and while I don't believe it, it does fit the criteria of gaining a lot of attention. Here is one of MANY links --Mr.Santana Lopez (talk) 16:56, 22 April 2014 (EDT)

There was a post (where I can't find the link) about that Chrom from Fire Emblem: Awakening, Palutena from Kid Icarus, Shulk from Xenoblade Chronicles, Choir Boys from Rhythm Beat, and Pac Man are going to be in the game. This is from the same source (who I've surprised wasn't mentioned on this page already) that leaked that the E3 reveals would be Mega Man, Wii Fit Trainer, Animal Crossing Villager, Pac Man, Little Mac, and Mii (this should be called the 4 of 6 rumor if it will decide to be added). This leak has been getting a lot of attention. --Mr.Santana Lopez (talk) 16:56, 22 April 2014 (EDT)

That character select screen has already been seen and instantly debunked when posted, and we already have a section covering the ubiquitous phony character select screens. It's nothing special

Well, that screenshot is very convincing. The unconfirmed characters have new artwork that has never been seen before. Snake who was the one I find the most unlikely to return isn't there. The all the confirmed characters, including the most recent ones use the Smash 4 artwork. However, Chrom is the only unconfirmed newcomer on this roster. While Sakurai stated there will be three third-party characters, only two are there: Mega Man and Sonic. Snake, Lucas, Ike, Wolf, Pokémon Trainer, Squirtle, Ivysaur and R.O.B. were cut. Previously rumored newcomers like Pac-Man and Palutena isn't on here, and the Newcomer I want the most, Tails, didn't make it either. However, there is still a chance that it could be fake. Sakurai didn't confirm everyone yet. And he stated he had problems with the Ice Climbers on the 3DS. SeanWheeler (talk) 10:23, 23 April 2014 (EDT)
Instant fake, Wario's image is his dash turn from Brawl, and I know I've seen that Ganondorf from somewhere. I don't think this is any more notable than any other fake character screen. Toomai Glittershine ??? The Cloronic 10:27, 23 April 2014 (EDT)
Additionally, the Ness image is that already-provened-faked "leaked art" reversed, not to mention the art of the yet-to-be-revealed characters is distinctly worse than the actual character art (and of course, there's no way Smash 4 would have the same amount of characters Brawl had and Chrom would be the only newcomer we haven't seen yet). Omega Tyrant TyranitarMS.png 10:34, 23 April 2014 (EDT)
Well, I still have my fingers crossed for Tails. Though I have a good idea of how Pac-Man's series symbol would look. Maybe despite stating only three third-party characters, he might add Tails as a bonus for Sonic and still have Pac-Man? Argh, this isn't the place to speculate! But I guess you're right. Why would Chrom be the only newcomer? Why cut Wolf? They couldn't have Krystal? What about Palutena? She was in a very convincing leak and Sakurai posted a couple of Kid Icarus screenshots after the leak, yet she is not in the roster. There are some characters I'd want and they're not in the roster. SeanWheeler (talk) 10:55, 23 April 2014 (EDT)
Take a look at SW:TALK, Wheeler. Anyway, the biggest red flag for this fake is the use of Ganondorf's official Twilight Princess artwork instead of even trying to use "new" art. Miles (talk) 11:27, 23 April 2014 (EDT)
Just to clarify, Chrom's artwork in the leak is concept art from Awakening, and Ganondorf's is just his render from Twilight Princess (i.e., the one where he's standing upright, hands on the hilt of his sword, tip touching the ground). That said, Ness' artwork isn't the fake one (at least, if we're talking about the same artwork; his arms are in different positions that aren't the result of simply reversing the image), but Chrom's and Ganon's alone are enough to discredit the image. That, and this would be the first Smash game ever not to have the character select portraits zoomed in on the characters' faces. MarioGalaxyTalk 11:31, 23 April 2014 (EDT)

Nester prank[edit]

What do others here think of it regarding its notability as a "rumor"? Omega Tyrant TyranitarMS.png 20:40, 5 May 2014 (EDT)

Farcical response: It's notable because absolutely no one fell for it. You have to try for that to happen.
Real response: I see no reason why it would be considered notable. It offers nothing new over the previous rumors; arguably the only notable part is that it featured a URL similar to the official site's, and even then, that is already technically covered under the Wii Want More rumor.
--- Monsieur Crow, Author Extraordinaire, 21:02, 5 May 2014 (EDT)
Yes, while pretty much no one fell for this, I do think that it is notable enough to put here. Here are my reasons:
1. It was covered by tons of websites. There were dozens of famous gaming sites that had an article on this.
2. It was the first SSB4 rumor to have a website that looked like the real thing. ChuckNorris24.png 23:20, 5 May 2014 (EDT)
I absolutely agree with Chuck. If it's so widespread, then it makes so much sense to mention it here! I will spray bugs lol (talk) 14:16, 6 May 2014 (EDT)
It may be true that the joke did appear on multiple sites, but effectively none of them made speculation about whether or not it was real. Examples: "Nester Prank Fools Smash Fans a Day Before April Fools"; "Nester Joins Super Smash Bros. Roster (April Fools' Day); "Nester shows up on Smash Bros. website as April Fool's joke, screen shots included". For comparison, the "Namco Employee" rumor had serious discussion over whether or not it was legitimate. Examples: "Super Smash Bros. 4: Rumors and Speculation"; "“Namco Worker” Shares Smash 4 Rumors: Ghirahim and Ridley Playable, Nintendo Direct on January 31"; "Wii U Super Smash Bros. 4 Rumors, Spoilers: Game To Be Previewed Jan. 31? New Characters Include King K. Rool, Ridley, Little Mac, Takamaru?". In this case, coverage means nothing; if everyone knows of it as a joke, is it really a rumor, let alone a notable one?
The point about the page looking similar to the official site is also something that has already been done before. The Falco rumor featured faked images of the official site, and earlier still in Brawl, the downloadable content rumor featured a faked newspost that appeared to be from an official Nintendo site.
--- Monsieur Crow, Author Extraordinaire, 14:58, 6 May 2014 (EDT)
The Falco rumor may have had screenshots that looked like the website, but the Nester rumor had a fully functional website designed to look like the official one. And while practically every news site that featured it knew it was fake, it still was extremely widespread. ChuckNorris24.png 15:56, 6 May 2014 (EDT)

Alleged outlines in certain trailers[edit]

So people decided to try and point out certain characters in other characters' reveal trailers;Bowser, Jr in Mega Man's reveal trailer, and Pac-Man/Klonoa in Greninja's trailer. What was this all about? Dreamcastboy99filmz (talk) 21:02, 8 May 2014 (EDT)

I've never heard of this, and it sounds like people looking for patterns that aren't there, like when people tried to say the clouds in a SSE trailer resembled Bower, Ganondorf, and Mewtwo, and use it as evidence for their inclusion. Omega Tyrant TyranitarMS.png 05:16, 9 May 2014 (EDT)

Roster Rumors?[edit]

I'm not adding this, because I'm not sure what the criteria is for adding rumors, and how we define them as "notable", but I would consider perhaps adding this to the list: -- (The preceding signed comment was made by Ghabulous Ghoti) 22:32, 24 May 2014 (EDT)

The main criterion for rumour notability is how much it spreads around the internet, so unless/until it starts getting more coverage it should be left out. Toomai Glittershine ??? The Undirigible 22:37, 24 May 2014 (EDT)
"Leaked" character select screens are so ubiquitous, that an individual one is not really notable itself (and we already cover them in general in the initial paragraphs). I'll give credit that this one is more legitimate looking, though the lack of Ike makes it look like just another phony. Omega Tyrant TyranitarMS.png 22:41, 24 May 2014 (EDT)
The coverage I'd seen of this implied it was the character select for the E3 demo next month, but that doesn't redeem it into notability. As OT said, we cover these more generally unless there's a ton more press for a specific one. Miles (talk) 23:20, 24 May 2014 (EDT)

Proven false by OP. No significant spread outside of GameFAQs either.

Alright, like I said I was tired, and didn't bother checking last night. Still pretty good for a fake, though. Laikue (talk) 14:04, 6 July 2014 (EDT)

Nester Leak[edit]

As some of you may recall, the SmashWiki got hacked on April 1st just this year. Along with that, there was a link to a fake character reveal, the reveal being of Nester, the old Nintendo Power mascot (if you give me some time, I can find it). I had put up a little section on this page about the leak, but it got taken down. I don't get why a plain old theory is allowed (see the Trophy Quizzes section in the actual article), but not an actual leak. I am not meaning to sound like a dick here, but I'm just trying to figure out something, and hopefully let others know about the AFD Nester leak. The question is, is this a good idea? If it is not (and you give me a good enough reason why), then hopefully, I will understand. Again, not trying to sound/act like a dick here. Aidanzapunk (talk) 13:39, 9 July 2014 (EDT)

Compare the post-April-Fools notoriety of that particular joke with the Sonic and Tails one - it's much weaker, mostly because it was an obvious fake. I doubt it'll become notable enough in future to be included on this page. Toomai Glittershine ??? The Resolute 13:45, 9 July 2014 (EDT)

Should the Nester april fools joke be used? I don't remember much about it, but... Nutta Butta (talk) 17:53, 12 July 2014 (EDT)

See the section above. It was recognized as a joke instantly by a lot of people, and lacked an impact. MegaTron1XDDecepticon.png 18:13, 12 July 2014 (EDT)
That argument is pretty ridiculous. It's not just SmashWiki, as I saw it on multiple websites the day before April Fools. I'll see if I can find the posts about it. Nutta Butta (talk) 18:17, 12 July 2014 (EDT)
While it was very quickly recognized as a gag, it was indeed very widespread (even if just as being ridiculous). I believe it deserves a mention somewhere. Nutta Butta (talk) 18:22, 12 July 2014 (EDT)
Obvious April Fools' pranks do not really qualify as "rumour"s. The Sonic/Tails rumour in Melee is the exception, not because it wasn't obvious, but because it lasted in the public consciousness beyond its initial apperance. I seem to recall people talking about the Sonic/Tails rumour for months and even years after the fact, while I don't see the Nester thing anywhere nowadays. It was a flash in the pan. Gematsu Disproven[edit]

Should I change it to have "ended" or something to that effect? Because whether or not the first leak was true, the second (Chrom), third (roster finalization), and fourth (Shulk revealed today) were all confirmed as false. Putting it as "ended" also includes that the first leak has been completely confirmed as false. Until he sends another email, all of the leaks have been resolved- #1 is right, #2-4 are wrong. ...a new NuttaNutta's Mallo sig.pngis approaching... 16:31, 14 July 2014 (EDT)

I specifically went for the neutral phrasing that at least the later emails are inaccurate/false due to Chrom's deconfirmation. It's unclear if any were accurate at this time, so I've left it open-ended. I personally believe it was a set of lucky guesses which finally missed, but it's subjective for now. Miles (talk) 16:35, 14 July 2014 (EDT)
I added a new version that does not say whether or not it's been disproven or not (although I think it has been). ...a new NuttaNutta's Mallo sig.pngis approaching... 16:37, 14 July 2014 (EDT)

Wario Leak[edit]

I believe this[19] is notable enough to be listed here, considering it's been wide-spread, and Nintendo themselves were the leakers. Laikue (talk) 15:37, 28 July 2014 (EDT)

This information is mentioned on the Wario page. Miles (talk) 15:41, 28 July 2014 (EDT)
Speaking of that leak, remember when Falco was leaked back in February? Should info on the leak be on Falco's character page? ZeldaStarfoxfan2164 (talk) is a never lover boy 22:50, 28 July 2014 (EDT)
That was disproven rather quickly, and unlike the eShop thing doesn't come directly from Nintendo. Miles (talk) 23:38, 28 July 2014 (EDT)

Tetra Speculative[edit]

The trophy quiz hint thingy says Ghirahim is the most often speculated, but I've seen hundreds of Tetra speculations, that it will (or may) be Tetra from Wind Waker. 11:27, 9 August 2014 (EDT)

Ghirahim is more widely speculated though and is from the same game as Fi (as well as playing opposite to Fi) also only sign your talk posts with only one set of tildes (I.e. ~-~- not ~-~- ~-~- ~-~- replacing the dashes (-) with tildes (~) of course) Laikue (talk) 12:49, 9 August 2014 (EDT)

The Ninka/Vaanrose "Leak" from[edit]

I was tempted to add this supposed "leak", but I thought it would be more appropriate to run it by here first. While it is not exactly popular, the individuals from SmashBoards who initially provided this information are regarded as trusted and reliable sources, who are unlikely to just make things up. The fact that they felt it was important enough to share is noteworthy. This information is usually not accessible for those who don't have a SmashBoards account. Recently, however, the information has been restricted to the more senior members of SmashBoards and for that reason I no longer have full access to it. The amount of secrecy about this information is very interesting, and while it is not widely acknowledged I think it's significant enough to create a section for here, but what do you guys think? I managed to snap a shot of the information. Please do not immediately disregard the information because the pictures are from Project M; the text on the image will explain that.--Nintendo101 (talk) 18:21, 19 August 2014 (EDT)

OK: Do not put pictures on talk pages. They take up unnecessary space, even more so in this pic's case, and can be handled by an internal link ([[:File:Name]]; notice the extra colon before 'file'). About the leak itself: What exactly is this supposed to leak? You never explained that. I can't read the text there, and I think you should give us an external link to the thread so we can see what this actually is. Qwerty (talk) 18:58, 19 August 2014 (EDT)
I can provide a link to the thread, but individuals who do not have a SmashBoards account cannot view the information, and the thread has now been locked so that only senior members can view the information anyways. The purpose of the image is that if you select it, and go to its file, it's large enough for you to read it's contents. It was the only way for me to provide the information without quoting it myself because I didn't think I'd be believed if I was to just spread the information from it. The leak adds details on certain palette swaps, and more importantly it claims to provide information on newcomers and character cuts from Brawl. --Nintendo101 (talk) 20:17, 19 August 2014 (EDT)
