The curse effect acts similar to the darkness effect in terms of visual damage. However, it also makes opponents hit by the effect slowly take damage over time for a while. Although this makes it similar to the Flower effect, the curse effect can't be removed via performing an action, making it more consistent, though it generally deals less damage at a slower rate to compensate. Any fighter under the curse effect will have purple flames with a hint of red flicker around them while they take damage, and might display an angry expression, surprised expression or sad expression. Thus, the curse effect is essentially equivalent to the poison effect introduced in the same game, with the only difference between them being their aesthetic visual.
