'''The Big House''' is a [[Michigan]] tournament series hosted annually near the end of the year by {{Sm|Juggleguy}}. It began in 2011 as a regional event for ''[[Melee]]'', but has since grown to be one of the most prestigious for the game, often attracting around 1,000 entrants. It is considered one of the two premier ''Melee'' events of the year, alongside {{Trn|GENESIS|series}}.


The Big House is a major tournament series hosted by {{Sm|Juggleguy}} in Michigan, United States. It has risen in popularity to the supermajor status and hosts Melee and Smash 4 singles and doubles events, having hosted Project M tournaments in the past. The 2017 installment of the series, [[The Big House 7]], grossed 512 entrants for Smash 4 and 1,522 entrants for Melee, making it the 6th largest Melee  tournament of all time.
The event also previously held large events for ''[[Project M]]'' and ''[[Smash 4]]'', and it currently hosts events for ''[[Smash 64]]'' and ''[[Ultimate]]''. However, the tournament has been noticeably less prestigious for the latter two events.

The Big House is a Michigan tournament series hosted annually near the end of the year by Juggleguy. It began in 2011 as a regional event for Melee, but has since grown to be one of the most prestigious for the game, often attracting around 1,000 entrants. It is considered one of the two premier Melee events of the year, alongside GENESIS.

The event also previously held large events for Project M and Smash 4, and it currently hosts events for Smash 64 and Ultimate. However, the tournament has been noticeably less prestigious for the latter two events.
