Shuton (しゅーとん) is a Smasher from Fukuoka, Kyūshū who is currently residing in Tokyo, Kantō, who is known for his success in Super Smash Bros. for Wii U and Super Smash Bros. Ultimate, where he is considered the greatest Olimar player off all-time across both games, and arguably the best Olimar player in the entire series.
He made his competitive debut in Smash 4 as an Olimar player. He dominated Kyūshū's competitive scene, winning nearly every Kyūshū event he attended which earned him the nickname "King of Kyūshū". He broke out onto the Japanese scene after placing 2nd at Umebura 22 and gradually became one of Japan's best players. He made his first international appearance Frostbite 2017 where he placed 5th, and since then has placed highly at many American events, most notably placing 3rd at 2GGC: West Side Saga and Smash Sounds, becoming the only solo-Olimar player with multiple top 8 major performances. As such, he is widely considered the greatest Smash 4 Olimar player of all time and was ranked 23rd on the PGR 100 as the ranking's only solo-Olimar player.
In Ultimate, he was initially a solo-Olimar player, and alongside Dabuz and Myran spearheaded Olimar's large playerbase in the early metagame. He especially became the only Olimar player to win a major, which includes winning Umebura SP, the first Ultimate major, and 2GG: Prime Saga, Shuton's first international major victory. Even after Olimar's nerfs in 3.1.0, he remained successful with Olimar and notably won EVO Japan 2020, Japan's largest event in the early metagame. He eventually picked up Pyra and Mythra as a co-main in the post-pandemic metagame and piloted the characters to great success, including winning several other majors such as Seibugeki 18. With all these achievements and his many major victories throughout Ultimate's lifespan, he is considered one of the greatest Ultimate players of all time as well as the greatest Ultimate Olimar player and one of the greatest Pyra and Mythra players.
