Frostbite 2017 was a national Super Smash Bros. for Wii U tournament held in Ann Arbor, Michigan, that took place on February 25th-26th, 2017. This tournament had top level talent such as ZeRo, MkLeo, Nairo, Dabuz, Abadango, Ally, komorikiri, Salem, Ranai, Kameme, VoiD, and others. It was also the first time that Japanese players Shuton and T attended a major tournament in the United States. A North America vs. Japan crew battle was also hosted. PG Key to Frostbite 2017 was a qualifier for this tournament and was won by Cosmos, who was unable to attend. Zage, the runner up, was flown out in his place.
