The timed stamina battle condition references the Ice Climbers' goal to grab the Condor at the peak of each mountain before time runs out. Ridley avoiding conflict references how the Condor often flies out of the Ice Climbers' reach. Other trivia: This spirit's Strong-Wind Resist ability references the Condor's ability to fly over the summit of each mountain in Ice Climber. In World of Light, the Condor spirit is located at the Frozen Mountain section similar to the stage's icy mountain setting.

The stage and music represent the icy mountain in Ice Climber. The Freezie item references the sliding ice that repairs the gaps made in the platforms in Ice Climber. The Earthquake rule and Donkey Kong's frequent Instadrop references the Polar Bear's ability to stomp and cause the screen to move upwards in Ice Climber. The Slow Super Armor battle condition references how the Polar Bears are slow but powerful enemies in Ice Climber. Other trivia: In World of Light, the Polar Bear spirit is located at the Frozen Mountain section similar to the stage's icy mountain setting. The Polar Bear spirit must be defeated in order to access the Ice Climbers fighter, referencing how the Polar Bear and the Ice Climbers appear in the latter's eponymous game.

Trivia

• Ice Climber and R.O.B. are the only universes to have no primary spirits. Final Fantasy also applied prior to DLC.
• Ice Climber, Super Mario, The Legend of Zelda, EarthBound and Pac-Man are the only series represented by a fighter to use in-game sprite art for their spirits.
  • Ice Climber is also the only one of these in which all of its spirits are in-game sprites (not counting the Ice Climbers' alternate spirit artwork).
• Despite the Polar Bear having hand-drawn artwork on the Famicom/PAL boxart of Ice Climber, it still uses its in-game sprite for its spirit picture, instead.
• Oddly, despite there only being one Ice Climber game (outside of ports and re-releases), it is referred to as a series.
• Both Ice Climber spirits found in World of Light are found in the Realm of Light making them all associated solely with Galeem and not Dharkon in any fashion.
  • Combined with Ice Climbers themselves found in the Realm of Light, no Ice Climber fighter or spirit is found under Dharkon's control.
