Most ''Melee'' events allow you to choose any character (that's 30 set fighter events that allow you to choose any character), with relatively few being pre-determined (that's 21 pre determined events) ; while this is reversed in ''Brawl'', as every battle (that's 34 events and 19 co-op events) except the few [[All-Star Matches]] and final events have set fighters (that's 7 events that have set fighters that allow you to choose any character and 2 of the Co-Op events allow you to pick any character).
