Mushroom Kingdom Adventure (sometimes also called Mushroom Kingdom III) is the first stage in Super Smash Bros. Melee 's Adventure Mode. Its design is reminiscent of classic Mario platforming levels, complete with Goombas, Koopa Troopas, and Koopa Paratroopas. Near the beginning, the player must hop across a series of platforms in water. As swimming does not exist in the game, falling into a water nearly guarantees a KO to the player. After this, the player enters an elevated platform where they must face a team of 10 Yoshis to continue. After this, the player must cross a series of pipes and then reach the ending flag. Crossing the flag will end the stage.

The stage is very similar to the Mario platformers. The background is very similar to the grassy fields of the Mushroom Kingdom. Pipes have been a staple of Mario games, with the penultimate world in Super Mario Bros. 3 being a maze of a them. At the end of each non castle level in Super Mario Bros, there is a flag that the player must jump on to end the level. After touching the flag, Mario (or Luigi) slides down and leaves the level. This is not the case in Melee, where simply touching the flag results in completion of the level.

Stage Description

Near the beginning, the player must hop across a series of platforms in water. As swimming does not exist in the game, falling into a water nearly guarantees a KO to the player. After this, the player enters an elevated platform where they must face a team of 10 Yoshis to continue. After this, the player must cross a series of pipes and then reach the ending flag. Crossing the flag will end the stage.

Origin

The stage is very similar to the Mario platformers. The background is very similar to the grassy fields of the Mushroom Kingdom. Pipes have been a staple of Mario games, with the penultimate world in Super Mario Bros. 3 being a maze of a them. At the end of each non castle level in Super Mario Bros, there is a flag that the player must jump on to end the level. After touching the flag, Mario (or Luigi) slides down and leaves the level. This is not the case in Melee, where simply touching the flag results in completion of the level.

Playability through Hacking

Like almost all stages of its type, Mushroom Kingdom Adventure is accessible in multi-player modes through hacking. It should be noted that the game will crash when the Yoshi team's area is entered.
