Ladies and Gentlemen, welcome, editors and users, to the Smash Arena! Each week this forum hosts a tussle between two characters from the Super Smash Bros. series! The winner gets, well, nothing. It's more of a poll but functionally, this is a popularity contest. You may vote for your favorite or who you think would win in an competition between the two combatants that round. No, you don't have to vote for the character with strength & power, just vote if you are a total fanboy of the character. So what are you waiting for? Get voting! Remember, you can remain anonymous! If you have any requests for future fights, please feel free to leave a message here.

The Rules

  1. When voting, you can give a brief comment on why you voted the way you did, or you can just leave your signature.
  2. You can only vote once. Any multiple votes will be removed.
  3. Put a # before your vote to facilitate the vote counting.
  4. Type ~~~~ after your vote to sign it, whether you are logged in or not. Using the wrong number of "~"s counts as not signing - your signature must have both your signature itself and the time.
  5. There is a line in each section consisting of "DO NOT ADD COMMENTS OR EDIT ANYTHING BELOW THIS LINE". You are to do so; do not just type your vote at the bottom of the editing window. Not following this rule results in your vote being displayed in the wrong place.
  6. Put your vote below other votes; that is, so the votes are in chronological order.
  7. Any comments about the fight should be left in the comment section. It is recommended that you do not post argumentative, accusative, or any sort of comment with the intention of starting an argument with someone on the opposing side. The Smash Arena is a popularity contest, there's no need to argue with the other side on why your choice is superior, or why they are wrong with their reasoning for picking their choice.
  8. You may only vote in the current fight; all previous fights are closed.
  9. Do not leave a space between your comment and the ones above it (and/or below it).
  10. Do not put your vote in the Half-Votes section. It is not where anonymous users vote, nor is it acceptable to want your vote to be worth half. It is basically saying "I want to be punished", and you will be treated accordingly.
  11. If there are multiple fights in a single round, try to make all your votes in a single edit.

If your vote is not added correctly - that is, it breaks rules 3, 4, or 5 - you have one hour to fix it. After this time, it may be moved by any user to the Half-Votes section (adding the unsigned template if necessary), and it will count as half a vote. Attempting to move your vote out of the Half-Votes section may result in it being worth zero at an operator's discretion. In addition, if your votes-to-rulebreaks ratio climbs too high, your votes may count for zero until the ratio drops to an acceptable level.

While these two Pokémon don't have too much in common normally (aside from being legendaries), their appearances in Brawl are interestingly juxtaposed: both beam attacks that are almost sure to KO, but they fire perpendicularily and one is a single hit while the other is a cluster of them. Which of them has the upper hand?

  3. I like its attack in Melee 'cause it traps opponents, but tends to freeze light characters, such that it allows them to escape from it.   5. One of my suggestions! Although they both OHKO, Suicune's beam duration lasts only a split second, but is somehow so much more accurate and deadly; Deoxys' beam never hits my opponent, although it lasts for a few seconds. Also, my other reason is from Pokemon. Deoxys' is generally overrated because its stats are not balanced in any of his four Formes, which punches holes in his battle strategy; Attack and Normal Formes rely on OHKOing your opponent Pokemon before it attacks you, which means that if the opponent survives the first turn, Deoxys is pretty much dead. Defense Forme only creates an annoyingly long battle, and Speed Forme is actually decent but rarely used. Suicune, on the other hand, is only a few stat levels short of Deoxys', but actually has balanced stats that help in every aspect of battle. Also, to you Deoxys voters, Hyper Beam is a two- turn attack, so the opponent can attack before obliteration: instant death (for Deoxys).
