Sonic and Mario (ソニックとマリオ, Sonic and Mario) is the 17th co-op event match out of a total of 21 in Super Smash Bros. Brawl. Player 1 controls Sonic while Player 2 controls Mario. The goal of this event is to defeat the three Marios and three Sonics on the Green Hill Zone stage. The foes will appear in alternating order, starting with Sonic.
Trivia
- The name and description of this event match imply that this event alludes to Mario & Sonic at the Olympic Games, the first official Mario and Sonic crossover.
- This is the only co-op event (and only event ever in Super Smash Bros. Brawl) where one of the players in this co-op event is forced to use the same character a second time (Mario); and Mario was the player's character in both the first solo and co-op event (Two Trouble Kings).
- This event is like Event 41: The FINAL, Final Battle (the 41st and final solo event) because this co-op event also has characters who are mascots from companies. In this co-op event, Mario is the mascot of Nintendo; and Sonic is the mascot of Sega.
