Increase the recommended length of a talk page* before archiving

This discussion is in regards to a proposed change on SmashWiki. The discussion must first meet with a consensus before it is implemented.

*This also applies to non-talk pages that need to be archived every now and then, such as the admin noticeboard.

This is a partial continuation of a previous discussion.

Technology has gotten better over the years, and we should increase our archiving standard to 50kb. After reading what was said in the previous discussion, 50kb feels like a decent halfway point between our current 32kb and the 75kb proposed in that discussion. 50kb feels less restrictive than 32kb, and talk pages that already get a lot of traffic won't have to be archived as often. I'd like to know everyone's thoughts before implementing an increase in our archiving standard. Mario Maniac 01:04, September 23, 2026 (UTC)

Talk pages honestly don't get used that often currently, so I don't see a need to increase it. CookiesCreme 02:56, September 23, 2026 (UTC)
