Collage featuring Musk's favourite fighters. He could actually make a similar collage for you if you wanted... hit him up.
Hopelessly obsessed with the Banjo-Kazooie franchise (and, to a slightly lesser extent, the Minecraft franchise).
Main Banjo & Kazooie
Secondaries Enderman, Min Min, King K. Rool
Also enjoys playing PAC-MAN, Piranha Plant, Jigglypuff, Villager, R.O.B.
Skill Super Smash Bros. Ultimate Knows some sweet Banjo & Kazooie plays and combos, and can... avoid being 3-stocked with Enderman or Min Min, but that's pretty much it. Not really, really bad, but chances are, couldn't beat you. Prefers a competitive ruleset and setting, but has never participated in an actual tournament.
Other Hasn't played any other Smash game for more than, like, five or ten minutes. Decided pretty quickly that 64, Melee and Brawl weren't for him, and hasn't touched 3DS / Wii U.

HEY      EVERY      !! IT'S ME!!!

EV3RY  BUDDY  'S FAVORITE [[Number 1 Rated Salesman1997]]

—Spamton G. Spamton, DELTARUNE

Um... all you need to know about me is that I am a nerd (I prefer the term "geek") who may have any or all of ADHD, OCD, and Asperger syndrome (no official diagnosis yet), and shows significant traits of Vulnerable Narcissistic Perfectionism. In person I'm shy, quiet, and very slow to putting sentences together, making social interactions extraordinarily awkward; thankfully, the internet exists, where I can accurately reflect my polite, knowledgeable, extremely loyal (and absolutely never narcissistic) self. I apologize in advance for any uncalled-for acts of vigilantism that will probably come about as I try to keep chaos at bay around me (I can't STAND disorder in information reserves like this). And just in case you're not sure, I am male and would like to be referred to as such.

I got into Super Smash Bros. Ultimate because of my pre-existing connection to Banjo-Kazooie. I started playing in December 2019, and I haven't found any interest in actually playing the other Smash games, but I would consider myself pretty well-versed in Smash knowledge. Unfortunately, most of the time other people beat me to adding technical info, so I often find myself elaborating, fixing formatting, reformatting, finding things for Admins to do that I can't, suggesting nitpicky changes, forgetting about Fox, or "bettering wording" in general. Run for Administrator? When Shrek gets into Smash.

Something else you should know about me as an editor is that I have an unhealthy tendency to closely monitor and scrutinise changes made to pages relating to universes I care about the most - specifically, you will notice this behaviour around Banjo-Kazooie, Minecraft, Cuphead and UNDERTALE info. Please don't worry too much about this, so long as you're not going to be careless with my precious articles - and after all, it's not like I can hurt you over it... right? (If you're interested in my connections to these franchises, see here.)

Here's a friendly reminder that Atari Interactive and Taito, some of the most important and influential video game developers/publishers of the arcade era and of all time, seriously need substantial representation in Smash (also, Bandai Namco could use a lot more). It's legitimately astounding that classics such as Space Invaders, Frogger, Centipede, Bubble Bobble, and Q*bert (that last game isn't from either company mentioned, but you get my point) are nowhere to be seen despite all the third-party support that Smash Ultimate got.

And finally, a heads-up in case you want to accuse me of sockpuppeting: KirboBoi64 is my actual younger brother. He edits in the same house as I, and may make the same kinds of edits I tend towards, but he's not me. Making that clear.

I guess that's everything I really want you to know. But if you're interested in more about me, you can scroll down for random trivia.

Remember that video-game you and Asriel used to play?

What was it called...? Super Smashing Fighters?[sic]

When he was very little, he LOVED the green lizard from that.

—Toriel, DELTARUNE

How well I understand and handle every fighter in Ultimate. If you have a mouse, you can hover over most fighters' portraits for a quick explanation of their placement... although if a fighter in the "never touched" tier has no description, I probably just don't have a good reason. There are two yellow tiers because both rows are of about equal importance. The last two tiers are ordered by fighter number; all other tiers are ordered by my "comfort," left > right.

Note that, again, I only play/have played Ultimate. Banjo & Kazooie alone in the top tier are for reference as my uncontested best fighter.

Super Smash Bros. Ultimate
IntenseDifficulty.png
My ability to play one fighter stands
far above my ability to play the rest.
My go-to in any super-serious setting. The duo that defines nearly my entire gaming life, I've pledged the majority of my Smash career to the bear and bird.
VeryHardDifficulty.png
I play these fighters on a semi-regular basis
with a respectable(?) amount of skill.
HUGE fan of Minecraft here, so there was no way I wasn't obsessing over this fighter (specifically, Enderman - the best mob) from day one. This fighter is so incredibly fun to play and I think I've gotten pretty good at 'em. Nothing interesting to say here. Min Min effortlessly avoids every problem I have with most melee zoners in this game. My main before I bought B&K, I love everything about Krool's design - as a fighter and as a character.
HardDifficulty.png
Planned secondaries that I have a feel for.
I love PAC-MAN. More than anyone else in this tier, I definitely feel that if I put the hours in, I could slap with him. Cool character, cool moveset, cool with me. It's just so easy to follow people around in the air with this severely underrated fighter; lovely contrast from the sluggish-in-the-air fighters I main. Along with Jigglypuff, one of the only "glass cannon" fighters I've found much fun with. Honestly, everything about him is so hecking FREE - I can only imagine what he's like to play as when you're GOOD at him. Not a Final Fantasy fan, but I connect with Cloud on a deep, personal level in this game - his controls, power, mannerisms, it all clicks with me far better than any other "swordie" I play. I like his aesthetic and can relate to his personality, on top of him essentially being better Banjo & Kazooie (although optimal play with him is far more technical), so I definitely will have to give him a proper shot sooner or later. Dangit, I have no good reason for this one! I just love Luigi so much as a character that I simply must learn to play as him when I get the chance. Love Splatoon, will have to give this fighter another try soon.
HardDifficulty.png
Largely casual picks that I'm fairly decent with.
A rather fun and non-serious pick of mine, Plant pretty much fits the bill for a main of mine, but I've got so many other mains and future secondaries it'll probably have to wait. My secondary before buying B&K, similarly to Piranha Plant I just like to have silly fun goofing off with this guy. Three words: Sans and Cuphead. That's it. Well, Daisy is objectively more awesome than Peach, and who doesn't want to play the princesses? Or... I may just be a sucker for spunky, energetic women. Debatable.
NormalDifficulty.png
I can play these fighters, but I never
pick them unless asked.
I'm probably the only person on the planet who never played Fatal Fury but has Terry's special inputs memorized. Doesn't mean I'm super good at him, though. Don't get me wrong, I enjoy playing as King Dedede a lot... I just have so many other fighters that I enjoy more, that I rarely get a chance to play as him. Bowser's poor recovery and overall requirement of playing patiently are terrible deterrents for me, but he's still a lot of fun in a non-serious setting. Despite being a great, simple beginner's fighter and an arguable top-tier, at this point in my Smash career the balance between Mario's frame data and mobility doesn't sit right with me. Hot take: Kirby's kinda boring! To watch, and to play as! Refer to "Bowser" (he doesn't have to play as patiently, but on the other hand he has hardly any zoning tools at all).
EasyDifficulty.png
I've picked 'em up once or twice, but the
interest just isn't there (or in some
cases, I've lost interest overtime).
Cloud recently superseded her as my go-to future swordie. Eh, she was always a little on the lame side, anyway. Similar to Mario, his movement seems to clash with his moveset in my head. 'Cineroar mains must be masochists or something, I just can't stand being so close to my opponents and their attacks so often. He relies a little too much on camping for my taste. (Although if you'd seen my B&K in a match with more than three fighters, you'd say that's rather hypocritical.) His mediocre offstage presence doesn't bode well for his zoner, "stay away" playstyle, IMO. Not a fan of the mechanics behind her projectiles, sadly. I'll just say I'm not a fan of the Belmonts' zoning tools and leave it at that. I apologize if I've convinced you thus far that I like slow fighters. That is NOT necessarily the case. You may consider some fighters I play (B&K, noodle girl, King Kroc) to not have the greatest mobility in the world, and I would have to agree, but Ganondorf transcends them all in sheer sluggishness, and his power and admittedly cool tech don't make up for it. Partially due to his overreliance on a few select moves, I have nothing to say here.
Never touched these fighters, for one reason
or another.
No point in trying to play an echo if I've established that its base fighter is not for me. None of the Star Fox gang looks like a fighter I'd take pleasure in spamming neutral special with. Pikachu perfectly encapsulates everything I have a distaste for when it comes to lightweights - and it mostly boils down to the fact that my brain and hands are too slow to pull off the combos they mostly rely on. If you were referred here from another light- or middle-weight, just know that they probably make my head spin just to watch. CaptainFalconIcon(SSBU).png Daisy is objectively more awesome. End. Of. Story. IceClimbersIcon(SSBU).png Refer to "Pikachu." Normally if I had nothing to say, I'd leave the caption blank, but here in particular it's just astounding how little Zelda interests me. My word, she is truly forgettable. Actually considering this fighter, he interests me more than his red clone. Refer to "Pikachu." Refer to "Fox." Tipper mechanic, no projectiles, poor recovery, worse Lucina. YoungLinkIcon(SSBU).png

Refer to "Marth" (ignoring the "tipper" bit). Refer to "Roy." MetaKnightIcon(SSBU).png No offense to all you Pit mains out there, but he just looks... really repetitive to me. Refer to "Pit." Refer to "Pikachu." I love Wario so hecking much, but I'm not sure about his complexity. I'll probably pick him up eventually. Refer to "Roy." PokémonTrainerIcon(SSBU).png Refer to "Pikachu." If he's anything like Ness, I don't want to hear it. If you play Smash at all, you're well aware of the reputation Sonic players have, and I want no part in that. Olimar looks every bit as annoying to play as, as he is to play against. I can't imagine having to manage all those Pikmin.

Sorry, I just don't think I'm not comfortable using a fighter who only starts winning when he's losing. ToonLinkIcon(SSBU).png Refer to "Fox." MegaManIcon(SSBU).png WiiFitTrainerIcon(SSBU).png RosalinaIcon(SSBU).png Do I have ANY reason to pick Mac? The answer is no. I don't. Uh, mostly because I like to go airborne a lot in Ultimate and that wouldn't bode well here. Refer to "Pikachu." Until Brawler gets, like, a Bottles costume or something, due to their "rushdown" archetype I'm happy to leave the Brawler to neat CPU battles between "myself" and various other characters for fun. Actually may have to give this one a shot one day. Is it strange that I don't think I would enjoy playing what appears to be an unstoppable goddess? RobinIcon(SSBU).png ShulkIcon(SSBU).png

BowserJrIcon(SSBU).png I have no logical explanation for this, but the duo looks strangely... technical? I can't figure out why, they just look really hard to play, and I have a grudge against them anyway for what happened in B&K's trailer. I think one technical, "traditional" fighting game fighter is enough for me. Sorry, Terry interested me first. Refer to "Ryu." This man has a really strange moveset that I'm not seeing the point of. Pass... for now. With almost all the traits I like in a heavy, maybe I'll try Ridley out one day, but I have no attachment to or interest in Metroid so I probably won't play him much. Refer to "Dark Samus." IsabelleIcon(SSBU).png My man Sephy looks at least as fun as Cloud, if not more... for people who like "glass cannon" fighters and can manage space with melee zoners (as stated before, Min Min resolves my problems with that archetype). I bought Challenger Pack 8 for the music and the stage (although one of my brothers does main him now...). No connection to/interest in the home series? Check. Literal sword fighters with a playstyle I'm not interested in? Check. Top-tier, making me vulnerable to being called out for mashing? Check. Sweating twice as much as I normally do if I were to play as them? CHECK. 😳🥵 Not upset with their inclusion at all, but I have no good reason to try them whatsoever. Bought for my sister. Easily one of my favourite inclusions as far as character picks go (and he looks so cool I'll have to get his amiibo), but I'm unsure of how much I'd enjoy controlling this wacky Ness-meets-Bayonetta-with-a-sword conglomeration of a fighter. My brother made the purchase (the same brother who is referred to in "Sephiroth," not the same as KirboBoi64); incidentally, I really love his stage and music.

Haven't purchased these fighters, also for one
reason or another.
Refer to "Pikachu". (Between you and me though, I also really dislike his aesthetic and I can't handle the violence he carries from his game...) Hero may have looked like fun, if it didn't look like he overrelies on favourable RNG. Refer to "Corrin." Extremely steep learning curve for a fighter with terrible disadvantage and camping... but I may have to buy this pack for the stage and music later on.

My playstyle (how to beat me)

W-wow, Kris! Your passion is amazing!!
—Ralsei, after being told "gaming is my life" by the player, DELTARUNE

My biggest weakness is how slowly I tend to think things through. Even if I have something memorized, I'll second-guess the crap outta myself before going through with whatever it may be, if my opponent hasn't knocked me off the stage yet. Simply put, I don't allocate my brainpower well. That's why I'm so lucky to have a main that's well suited to me: Banjo & Kazooie, for a variety of reasons, aren't easily punished for slow thinking. They can escape light pressure easily, can camp and spam when I need time to think, and alongside being nice and heavy, they have one of the best recoveries in the game in case I make a careless mistake. However, don't dismiss me as another annoying "Banjo main." Nothing could be farther from the truth.

I'M AN ANNOYING KAZOOIE MAIN!!! HAHA GET REKT LOSERS!!!!1!!! TAKE THESE GRENADE EGGS TO THE FACE!!! FIFTEEN WONDERWINGS A GAME BAYBEE!!! BACK-AIR YOU TO HADES, SUCKERS!!!!!!!1!!!

Sorry, the negative connotation that the term "Banjo main" has really makes me sick. You don't have to play the duo campy and spammy, although it takes some work to get a "hype" playstyle down with them. Also, this term completely ignores an entire character - and the one actually responsible for the entire bloody moveset, at that.[1] (And adding to the irony is the fact that Kazooie is directly responsible for the fighter's "annoying" qualities.)

And anyway, that was a joke. Actually, I have a more mindgame-oriented approach to playing with the duo than most of my peers. Obviously, if an opponent is leaving themself wide open, I'll go in for a powerful attack, but usually, baiting and punishing pretty much sums up my entire gameplan - that is, when I'm not facing someone insanely light on their feet and hungry for combos. Again, I can't think fast enough to counter that, so I end up in a more defensive and, well, annoying stance in those matches. Also, it's worth pointing out that I instinctually prioritize melee, up-close options when possible, and with the bird 'n bear, that's not always a good thing. But it's not like I don't know any combos or rushdown tactics with them! Ever heard of drag-down neutral aerial into rapid jab? Drag-down back aerial into forward tilt? Down special into down special into down special into back aerial? Down throw into pretty much anything? Forward aerial that kills at 90%? Back aerial against the bottom of Final Destination? Neutral aerial offstage? Seriously, why is no-one talking about Kazooie's neutral and back aerials? They're INSANE!

Unfortunately, Banjo & Kazooie are the only fighter in the game that I'll ever actually be good at. It's like as soon as I take control of anyone else, I forget how to play the hecking game. Perhaps the most tragic victim of this is Enderman, who is my second-favourite fighter in the game. For a while there I really, really wanted to co-main him, but it just isn't working out - he requires a very focused and unique mindset that my slow brain can barely provide on his own, let alone as a counterpick. I love Steve ever so much, but if I ever make it to a proper tournament, he probably won't come with me, sadly.

  1. ^ Exceptions include basic mobility, gentleman-jab, forward-aerial, grab, back- and down-throw, the tossing of the opponent for up-throw, holding Kazooie in forward-tilt, forward-smash and Breegull Blaster, the motion of Banjo's leg in up-tilt, the slamming down of Banjo's fist in vain in down-smash, the quick motion forwards in Wonderwing, taking all damage, wielding most items, and getting out of Kazooie's way for literally every other attack in their kit.
