Event Match 38: The Wolf Hunts the Fox (キツネ狩りのオオカミ, The Wolf Hunts the Fox) is the 38th solo event match out of a total of 41 in Super Smash Bros. Brawl. It is more-or-less a straight-forward 2-stock match between Wolf, who is controlled by the player, and a computer-controlled Fox and Falco, who both have 1 stock each, with unlimited time on the Lylat Cruise stage.
Unlockables
If a player clears this event on Hard difficulty, they will receive a CD containing the Star Wolf (Star Fox Assault) track, for use in the Lylat Cruise stage.
Trivia
- This is the only event in Brawl to have different music than the music piece unlocked by completing this event to play in the actual event.
- This is the only event match in which Wolf is playable instead of being an enemy to fight.
- This is similar to how Fox and Wolf often fight in the Star Fox series, although it presents a role reversal.
- All three opponents who appear in both this event and Co-Op Event 19: Shadow of Andross, are fought in Round 3 of Duck Hunt's Classic Mode route in Ultimate, despite being fought on Garden of Hope rather than Lylat Cruise.
- This solo event is also similar to the Melee event Event 43: Birds of Prey. Because both events focus with Fox and Falco. Also, because the event calls it "The Wolf Hunts the Fox", it's similar to the Melee event's name and description (which the description of said Melee event says, "Capt. Falcon and Falco join forces to take out Fox!"). However, the player's assigned character is Wolf and must use said character to KO Fox and Falco.
