Raito (ライト) is a Smasher from Kantō, Japan, who is best known as the greatest Duck Hunt player of all time across Smash 4 and Ultimate, and significantly upholding the reputation of the duo in each respective game.
Raito began his career in SSB4 playing as Duck Hunt, and was known for his performances later on in Smash 4's competitive lifespan in 2017, where he maintained a high level of consistency with a character who was only seen as an mid-low tier at the time, with Raito's performances raising opinions of Duck Hunt to borderline high-tier. As the sole Duck Hunt representative on all PGR rankings, he remains the undisputed greatest Duck Hunt player of all-time. He was ranked 11th on the JAPAN Power Rankings, 38th on the Panda Global Rankings 100, peaked at 23rd on PGR v5, and has taken sets off of top players such as MkLeo, Larry Lurr, Dabuz, VoiD, KEN, Mr.R, Tweek, and ANTi.
Raito would also see success in the early metagame and the first year of post-pandemic metagame of Ultimate, where he continued to play Duck Hunt, as well as Banjo & Kazooie. He is considered the best Duck Hunt player of all-time and one of the best Banjo & Kazooie players in Japan, having racked up the most major top 8s of any Duck Hunt player in 2019 and 2020, and even beyond his prime, he still carried out respectable results until his eventual retirement after Kagaribi 13. He has set wins over top players such as Dabuz, Cosmos, ProtoBanham, Abadango, Mr.R, MuteAce, Elegant, and Sparg0. He is ranked 8th on the discontinued Japan Player Rankings, 28th on the Experimental Smash Player Rankings, and 17th on the Fall 2019 PGRU; he remains the only Duck Hunt player to rank within the top 20.
Raito was sponsored by Candee from April 8th, 2018 to April 19th, 2019.[1][2] He was later sponsored by Thunder Gaming from October 12th, 2019 to November 2nd, 2020. [3]
