Ryu (リュウ,隆, Ryū) is a playable character in Super Smash Bros. 4 as downloadable content. First leaked through datamining of the 1.0.6 update, Ryu would ultimately be revealed as DLC in June 2015.

Based on Ryu's datamined voice clips:

• Hadouken appears to be chargeable, up to Shakunetsu Hadoken.
• There are separate voice clips for "Tatsumaki" and "Tatsumaki Senpukyaku"; whether this means there are two ways of using the move is unclear.
• Ryu's Final Smash performs Shin Shoryuken if a target is in proximity, and Shinku Hadouken otherwise.
