Ladies and Gentlemen, welcome, editors and users, to the Smash Arena! Each week this forum hosts a tussle between two characters from the Super Smash Bros. series! The winner gets, well, nothing. It's more of a poll but functionally, this is a popularity contest. You may vote for your favorite or who you think would win in an competition between the two combatants that round. No, you don't have to vote for the character with strength & power, just vote if you are a total fanboy of the character. So what are you waiting for? Get voting! Remember, you can remain anonymous! If you have any requests for future fights, please feel free to leave a message here.

The Rules

  1. When voting, you can give a brief comment on why you voted the way you did, or you can just leave your signature.
  2. You can only vote once. Any multiple votes will be removed.
  3. Put a # before your vote to facilitate the vote counting.
  4. Type ~~~~ after your vote to sign it, whether you are logged in or not.
  5. There is a line in each section consisting of "DO NOT ADD COMMENTS OR EDIT ANYTHING BELOW THIS LINE". You are to do so; do not just type your vote at the bottom of the editing window. Not following this rule results in your vote being displayed in the wrong place.
  6. Put your vote below other votes; that is, so the votes are in chronological order.
  7. Any comments about the fight should be left in the comment section.
  8. You may only vote in the current fight; all previous fights are closed.
  9. Do not leave a space between your comment and the ones above it (and/or below it).

If your vote is not added correctly - that is, it breaks rules 3, 4, or 5 - you have one hour to fix it. After this time, it may be moved by any user to the Half-Votes section (adding the unsigned template if necessary), and it will count as half a vote. Attempting to move your vote out of the Half-Votes section may result in it being worth zero at an operator's discretion. In addition, if your votes-to-rulebreaks ratio climbs too high, your votes may count for zero until the ratio drops to an acceptable level.

While neither of these stages are tournament-friendly, they're both located in places that started their respective series (and arguably the big two gaming streams of the 90's). Is the iconic construction site or the loopy grassland the more popular battleground?

While it's unclear why the famous plumber has a medical alter-ego (or even if he's certified), one thing's for sure: the Doctor knows what he's doing as much as Mario's regular state knows how to rough up Bowser. Which one of the two is the greater one?

  6. I never really liked any of the clones in Melee. But the ones that returned in brawl were at least sort of reworked, which was enough for me. And I'm sure the ones left out would have gotten reworked as well. Except for Dr. Mario. I really just can't see him progressing as a fighter at all, even if he were to return. The thing about the other clones is that they have the potential to gain new moves, and generally differentiate themselves from their clone counterparts. Dr. Mario was just a mere costume change of Mario with some minor move edits, which just isn't enough for me. That's really all he will ever be.   5. Mario's the classic character, but from a Smash Bros. standpoint, I favored Dr. Mario in Melee. He was stronger, used electric attacks instead of fire (which is part of why I like Luigi more than Mario too!), and, to be honest, doctors are just plain cooler than plumbers.   13. Doc is a lot better than Mario in Melee AND Brawl. While Mario can get infinited in Brawl and he can't combo so well and Doc (I think) can actually infinite about 1/3 of the cast with his Up-B cancel. Who really gives a crap that Doc is a clone. Being a clone is not bad when it comes to tourney play and can actually help out the character like Ganon was probably really good in Melee because he was a clone of the fastest Melee character (Falcon) while being so strong so he didn't end up like he is in Brawl (having really slow attacks and speed). Because at least the other clones werent just an already existing character with a different outfit,sure Roy,Falco,and Ganon were clones,but hey at least they were their own character and still pretty damn cool,but Dr.Mario,Young Link,and Pichu were terrible ideas,Dr.M is just mario in a doctors outfit giving out free pills to drug his foes,Young Link is just that,a young Link,and Pichu is pretty much just young Pikachu who was apparently a masochist,and whats wrong with Ganondorf in Brawl,his side tilt,down tilt,down air,and side special all got buffed,he may be slow but he was slow in melee as well so i dont see what your point is,he was and still is deadly,its just that slow characters arent very beginer friendly because they require a lot more skill to be used properly,the only real nerf he suffered is that he cant L cancel short hop F-airs and N-airs anymore and instead of getting comboed to hell he gets chain grabed insteadGig (talk) 17:20, 3 December 2010 (EST)
