Welcome to my talk page! Before you post any messages, there are some rules I'd like to be followed here (yes, I have to follow them too).

  1. Post all new topics under ==this type of== header.
  2. Sign all comments using ~~~~
  3. No removing or changing content here, unless you're correcting your own grammar, or you're striking something out you wrote.
  4. All SmashWiki rules and guidelines apply.
  5. I do Brawl online. However, requests to do so will not be taken on this talk page. Ask me on IRC instead, and if I'm not on IRC, I can't Brawl.

Welcome back![edit]

I thought I finished you off all those months ago... I mean, great to see you're back! :D --HavocReaper48 20:04, 8 December 2011 (EST)

Awww, thanks. I missed you too. :) DoctorPain99 {ROLLBACKER} 23:19, 9 December 2011 (EST)
So you are back but not for long.... Maybe after Wednesday you can help me construct up and down smash charts for Melee, as I know you are pretty familiar with that game. Mr. AnonMatchupUnknown.pngtalk 00:19, 10 December 2011 (EST)
I'll be back for at least 4 weeks. Finals are next week, then I have three weeks off. Hopefully I won't be too busy so I can help. DoctorPain99 {ROLLBACKER} 11:22, 10 December 2011 (EST)

IRC[edit]

Please come on soon. Unless Royboy has already talked to you recently, there are urgent matters. Mr. AnonAnon.pngtalk 23:07, 25 January 2012 (EST)

My internet is being retarded. It's only letting me access SmashWiki and a select few other sites... not including Freenode or GameSurge. So I'm pretty much fucked until this is fixed. Sorry. DoctorPain99 {ROLLBACKER} 23:16, 25 January 2012 (EST)
OK, basically there are reforms that I am proposing on Wikitroid. If you can, you might want to check them out. I know you used to be a relatively frequent editor on Wikitroid. Mr. AnonAnon.pngtalk 23:23, 25 January 2012 (EST)

SW:AGF[edit]

You are treating me like a baby. You have to give some respect to me. Marioisawesome118 Marioisawesome118.png 18:02, 1 February 2012 (EST)

Nothing I said violates SW:AGF. All it says is to treat you like you are attempting to help the Wiki, unless there is specific evidence to the contrary. I never strayed from that. You used incorrect grammar and spelling and violated SW:1RV multiple times, even after users told you not to. I was simply telling you (in a sarcastic way) to not do those things. I am not trying to treat you like a baby. DoctorPain99 {ROLLBACKER} 18:08, 1 February 2012 (EST)
I don't believe you. Marioisawesome118 Marioisawesome118.png 18:23, 1 February 2012 (EST)
That is your own problem. I can't make you believe me. DoctorPain99 {ROLLBACKER} 18:27, 1 February 2012 (EST)
DP, to be honest I starting to feel like I am ignored. Marioisawesome118 Marioisawesome118.png 18:36, 1 February 2012 (EST)
What do you want from me, exactly? DoctorPain99 {ROLLBACKER} 19:36, 1 February 2012 (EST)

@Mario118, this whole thing is just a misunderstanding. Perhaps DP99 did not handle the situation in the best way, but this isn't the place to be a drama queen. Quit it and do something more constructive to earn the respect you want. --Havoc48 >:D!!! 20:38, 1 February 2012 (EST)

HavocReaper48, I'm not acting like a drama queen. 68.50.201.222 21:37, 1 February 2012 (EST)

You kinda are, actually. Dr. Pain gave you some relevant advice for you to follow as to make you a better editor in the future. He didn't personally attack you or otherwise offend you, and you feel the need to complain about being "treated like a baby" on two pages...at the same time. You're essentially putting your ego ahead of your abilities; you're unable to take constructive criticism of any sort, and you're blowing your supposed offense at this advice to extreme proportions. --- ReiDemon, Author Extraordinaire, 21:40, 1 February 2012 (EST)
OK, maybe we need to stop talking. Marioisawesome118 Marioisawesome118.png 21:08, 2 February 2012 (EST)
If you wish to not continue a conversation, don't post. Comments like the one you just made are unnecessary. DoctorPain99 {ROLLBACKER} 22:23, 2 February 2012 (EST)
You know what DP. Sorry I blamed you. Marioisawesome118 Marioisawesome118.png 18:46, 3 February 2012 (EST)
It's alright. :) DoctorPain99 {ROLLBACKER} 20:18, 3 February 2012 (EST)
OK, both of you guys, HavocReaper48 and ReiDemon, I got what I from DP but calling me a drama queen was a terrible thing to say. 68.50.201.222 11:54, 3 March 2012 (EST)
This conversation is a month old. Generally, you don't reply to topics that are a month old, as they don't have relevance anymore. DoctorPain99 {ROLLBACKER} 17:04, 4 March 2012 (EST)

A user named Conker's Bad Fur Day, who has been editing on both DKWikis for about a year, turned out to be a sockpuppet of Darkrai. He stuck around and actually did a lot, including gaining adminship on DKWikia. I was totally oblivious to it. --Havoc48 >:D!!! 17:11, 23 March 2012 (EDT)
Oh god, he was on SmashWikia too... Wow. Btw, I have no real plans to become active again. My gf just dumped me and I'd rather not have to also deal with wikidrama. I may come back if and when I get my life sorted out. DoctorPain99 {ROLLBACKER} 18:20, 23 March 2012 (EDT)

You know, this also does pertain to the Wiki; I was explaining my current state of activity. You know, if you actually read the policy, it says that minimal off-topic discussions is allowed. You know, you're supposed to follow the spirit of law, not the letter of the law. Havoc and I have both worked on this wiki for years; we know what the policy says. Spelling and grammar[edit]

I don't think it would be neccesary for me to check my spelling and grammar in the future. Besides, I could mispell "laughs" for instance like "laffs" on purpose. Also, I could make grammatical errors like this: "Why did happen?". I'm not being rude or anything but please, Pain, is it okay if I made typos and grammar errors on purpose. Also, you do speak another language right or is english the only language you speak? Marioisawesome118 Marioisawesome118.png 11:35, 17 September 2012 (EDT)

Why is this necessary to say? Mr. AnonAnon.pngtalk 11:41, 17 September 2012 (EDT)
Anon, I don't think it is neccesary for me to learn proper grammar and spelling and I do not do these errors frequently. Marioisawesome118 Marioisawesome118.png 11:44, 17 September 2012 (EDT)

It's fine to make derpy spelling in the userspace, and user talk pages, but you may not ever make a spelling error on purpose in the mainspace. Toast Wii U Logo Transparent.pngltimatumTransparent Swadloon.png 15:23, 17 September 2012 (EDT)
Not neccesarily, no. I would consider fixing a typo in both personal pages. Marioisawesome118 Marioisawesome118.png 15:25, 17 September 2012 (EDT)
@Marioisawesome, what the hell are you talking about? You should use proper grammar always, but why is this even being brought up? DoctorPain99 {ROLLBACKER} 23:54, 17 September 2012 (EDT)
I am just going to make this short, then you should never make typos as well not even derpy spelling, and I do not do grammatical errors nor typos frequently. Marioisawesome118 Marioisawesome118.png 12:01, 26 September 2012 (EDT)
Get off my talk page and stop wasting my time unless you have something constructive to say. DoctorPain99 {ROLLBACKER} 17:35, 26 September 2012 (EDT)

IRC[edit]

First of all, I like that you ignored the perfectly good reasons I gave in the rule itself for the existence of the rule, and simply went with "that's stupid". Real constructive, bro. Second of all, you don't enforce it per se, you just expect users to abide by the rules and not be dicks. If you suspect someone of ignoring another user, you ask them if that's the case, and if so then why, and how can you help resolve this issue for them. Third of all, since when was adding one tiny rule about IRC without community discussion against the rules? What's your problem with the rule? Other than it being "stupid", of course... PenguinofDeath 18:04, 5 April 2013 (EDT)

Because I don't trust the administration to properly deal with users that are being disruptive. The best example I have is Piratehunter, who was allowed to freely personally attack people on IRC without any sort of negative repercussion. The way people would deal with him while the ops did nothing about him was by use of the ignore command, and it was neither rude nor deconstructive. Furthermore, if I want to use the ignore command, I want to use the ignore command, end of story. The ops should have no say in that matter; there isn't any reason they should have any say in that matter. If you want, you can add a clause that discourages the use of the ignore command, but banning it is unnecessary authoritarianism.
And the fact that I don't use IRC or the fact that I have never used the ignore command is irrelevant; I disagree on principle after seeing its positiveness in action. DoctorPain99DP99Majora.png 18:12, 5 April 2013 (EDT)
I agree with Dr. Pain and although he effectively summarizes my opinion, I'd like to add the fact that SmashWiki has no right to control what users do on other IRC channels (save PMs). If you are ignoring a user on another, less moderated channel, and that user happens to arrive on #SW, is it mandated that you unignore them? Finally, while there's nothing against PoD adding the rule in the first place, the spirit of SW:1RV holds that there should be some kind of community consensus before further implementing rules. Mr. AnonAnon.pngtalk 18:18, 5 April 2013 (EDT)
Piratehunter is a bad example, he was from an age when the channel was a lot more lenient and there weren't set rules, he wouldn't get away with what he did then today. Omega Tyrant TyranitarMS.png 18:37, 5 April 2013 (EDT)
DP: So your argument is based on stuff from years ago which is now irrelevant because op coverage is better in all regards, the fact that you want to do whatever you want to do on IRC despite presumably respecting all other rules on SW:IRC, and the fact that you never use IRC or the command in question in the first place? Is that an accurate summary of the above? Cos tbh that's a terrible argument... Are you keeping actual logic in reserve for some reason?
Anon: Your argument is just technicalities. There's no need to ignore a whole bunch of users so you can have multiple conversations at once. What if one of them wanted to join in, but you had them on ignore, and they were talking to you and taking interest in your conversation? How much of an ass would you look? Why not just take it to another channel, or PM? And no, we can't control what goes on on other channels, but you shouldn't have to ignore users on other channels for the same reasons that you should never have to ignore a user on #sw. If a channel you frequent has bad op coverage, that's not our problem, that's your duty to get your beloved IRC channel better equipped to deal with people who need to be banned. And you're saying the the spirit of 1RV is that someone can revert without any logical argument, and that's taken seriously and requires a community consensus? Is not the most basic spirit of any wiki policy to always use common sense? PenguinofDeath 18:38, 5 April 2013 (EDT)
You say I have a bad argument but then argue that you should ban ignore because it "makes users look like they're an ass." Yeah, whatever. Because we can't have that. DoctorPain99DP99Majora.png 18:48, 5 April 2013 (EDT)
I've pointed out that there exist cases where using ignore would be acceptable. You pointed out cases where it would be unacceptable. Cool. Just because it might not be acceptable in many cases doesn't mean it should be banned. DoctorPain99DP99Majora.png 18:49, 5 April 2013 (EDT)
You're argument also hinges on hypotheticals. If I'm ignoring a user who has a history of harassing me, there's no reason why I should be forced to see his or her posts. Banning the ignore user function creates an unnecessary restriction. If someone is abusing the ignore function to the point where it is impossible to contact, then that violates existing rules of the IRC, notably those regarding idling and lurking. Other than that, just because you personally find users who use it annoying does not mean it should be an enforced rule on IRC.
When we discussed other examples on IRC, I brought up PM harassment. You countered that this violates existing rules. However, it is not always the case that an admin is active on the channel. If an admin is inactive, there is no reason why users should be forced to see posts they find harassing. The case can be made that in mod inactivity, the ignore function is acceptable, but if we further extend this to an admin disagreeing with a user over what is disruptive. In this case, ignoring the user I find disruptive causes no harm to the IRC, and if the user I ignore desperately needs to contact me they can ask someone else to send me a message.
Finally, don't strawman me over 1RV. Clearly there is community dispute over your change, and there are users who dispute that this is "common sense". Instead of claiming users who disagree with you lack skills in logic, how about you give a substantial reason for your proposal that goes beyond "I find it rude" and "I haven't needed to use it."? Mr. AnonAnon.pngtalk 18:52, 5 April 2013 (EDT)
Whatever, I give up. /care PenguinofDeath 18:57, 5 April 2013 (EDT)

Okay this isn't really funny anymore[edit]

This is just dumb. I don't know if the socks on that page are all you, but it's clear at least one of them is and the others are the rest of your goon squad.

What is the purpose of making crap edits just to mess with people and constantly reverting them? It doesn't really accomplish anything other than increase edit volume (which might raise the site in some of Wikia's lists and make it more visible). And why pick on Oscuritaforze? Just because he happens to be on our IRC lately?

Hey DP, I just came to say I'm sorry about what happened at the MK page. I was just trying to add anything to an article that I can, whether if it's important or not, but I guess what said there really don't mean anything. And I'm sorry for the way I behaved. Responding to your revert[edit]

1) Technically, you disobeyed that and I didn't- I didn't technically revert the first time. I changed it to a similar but technically different thing. You reverted me twice. (just saying, I don't really care)

2) No, I did not know that, I've only been here for two or three weeks >.>

3) Hmm... It does on most websites. Ah well.

And I'm done. Thanks for the info that I will keep in mind later. Nutta Butta (talk) 20:47, 12 July 2014 (EDT)

1) You disobeyed it by reverting my revert of your edit, which the policy prohibits. I didn't disobey it, as your edit was obviously false.
2) Wikis archive every revision of every page, including deleted ones.
3) Things on wikis tend to be case-sensitive.

Now look.[edit]

I warned the channel not too long ago to quit with the stupid emotes as a trolling tool. If someone's using them with what I see as intent to incite, I'm going to ban them. Frankly, over the past little while you've been the agitator in debates that pop up, and that needs to stop. Treat this as a wake-up call. Toomai Glittershine ??? Several recent civil discussions between Brian and someone else that you crash in on with a snide remark. I'm sick of it. Cut it out. Toomai Glittershine ??? The Frivolous 23:41, 9 November 2014 (EST)
Civil? What discussions are you reading? Because the ones I'm reading are the ones where Brian just complains about shit and tells people they suck at Smash for no good reason. It happened yesterday when Timson asked him for advice. You have either got to be biased or ignorant to think my remarks are snide and his are fine. DoctorPain99 23:47, 9 November 2014 (EST)
Take this one that just happened. Brian and Timson were having a discussion about edgeguards and stage control. Then it went into disliking Sheik, and you jump in with a "yep, it's anti-Marth, of course he hates it". He repies in a civil way, you say "well I think that opinion goes :|O". This is clearly agitation, especially how at the end you go out of your way to rub it in by repeating it. I really don't know what kind of positive result you're trying to accomplish. Toomai Glittershine ??? The Cloronic 23:55, 9 November 2014 (EST)
What you perceive as a "civil way", I and many others perceive as bitching and complaining, which we are sick of. "I hate Sheik" and "camping is the worst thing in a fighting game" are his exact quotes. What you posted on my talk pages have slightly altered language and therefore slightly altered meanings. Oh and he called me a dummy before I ever even said he goes :|O, so it's not like his responses were civil either. I suppose you'll claim I "trolled" or "provoked" to make him say that, but he says that kind of crap anyway, and actually only said it into response to something civil that I said, "camping isn't just not fighting". DoctorPain99 00:01, 10 November 2014 (EST)
My point is that, instead of ignoring a discussion you don't want to participate in, you tried to get it derailed in an unconstructive way. It's not to say that others aren't without fault. Toomai Glittershine ??? The Engineer 00:05, 10 November 2014 (EST)
