Yoshi's Egg (ヨッシーのたまご, Yoshi's Egg) is the 13th event match of the 51 event matches in Super Smash Bros. Melee. As Yoshi, the player must protect a unique item, Yoshi's Egg, from Yoshi's opponents (Pikachu, Fox, and Donkey Kong). The egg can take damage from any character, including Yoshi. It will break if attacked too much, which will result in a loss. The event will also end in failure if the egg passes through a blast line other than the top one, although the player can still fail if any character is Star KO'd while in possession of the egg. If the player manages to keep the egg "alive" for 55 seconds, they will win the event. High scores are measured by the amount of KOs Yoshi can garner.
