The Smash World Tour 2021 Championships is the ongoing Super Smash Bros. Melee and Super Smash Bros. Ultimate finale for Smash World Tour 2021 being held in Orlando, Florida from December 17th-19th, 2021. The 32 players of each game who qualified through the Regional Finals are participating in the tournament. A Last Chance Qualifier for each game is being held on December 17th with the top 8 players qualifying,[1] bringing the total to 40 players for each game. Qualified players cannot enter side events, and side events will not be streamed.[2]

Format

There is a robin robin Group Stage and a final double elimination Championship Bracket for each game. The 40 players are divided in eight round robin groups, with each one including a player from the Last Chance Qualifier. The first placing player of each group is sent winners' side of the Championship Bracket, while second and third placing player of each group is sent losers' side of the Championship Bracket. The Top 24 will play in the Championship Bracket in a double elimination format. All sets are best of 5, in both the Group Stage and Championship Bracket.

In the event of a tie in a Group Stage round robin, the following tiebreakers will be applied, in the following order:[3]

  1. Game win percentage in the Group Stage defined as total games won divided by total games played.
  2. Game wins in games between Tied Players
  3. If still tied, the tied players will play another Round Robin with best of 1 matches. If still tied, this step will be repeated until the tie is resolved.
