This set was the second time in their rivalry that Azen beat Ken in tournament (after {{Trn|MLG Atlanta 2005}}) and remains the only time that Azen defeated Ken en route to winning a tournament. After his loss to Azen, Ken lost to {{Sm|Mew2King}} resulting in a 7th place finish, his lowest ever at a MLG event.

MLG New York Playoffs 2006 also known as MLG Manhattan 2006 was a Super Smash Bros. Melee national tournament held by Major League Gaming in New York City, New York, during October 13th-14th, 2006. It was the sixth tournament in the MLG 2006 circuit.
