Rivers, formerly known as Shoyo James, is a Super Smash Bros. Ultimate Diddy Kong player with a Chrom secondary from Howell, New Jersey. He is considered one of the best Diddy Kong players in the United States and the best Chrom player in the world during the early metagame. He has wins against top players such as Tweek, Dabuz, Cosmos, VoiD, Myran, ESAM, Mr. E, and Dark Wizzy. Rivers is currently an honorable mention in the 101st-150th section on the LumiRank 2023. He was also formerly ranked 5th on the New Jersey Ultimate Power Rankings, 49th on the Wi-Fi Warrior Rank v6, and 18th on the Spring 2019 PGRU. He was also one of the main tournament directors for the New Jersey scene.

In Super Smash Bros. for Wii U, he was a Diddy Kong main with a Luigi secondary. He has taken sets off of top players such as Tweek, Elegant, Ally, CaptainZack, komorikiri, MVD, Darkshad, Mr. E, and Zinoto, and is ranked 54th on the PGR 100. Near the end of Smash 4's lifespan, Rivers entered semi-retirement due to medical conditions. In an interview with ZeRo at Smash 'N' Splash 4, Rivers revealed that he suffers from tendonitis and thus doesn't enter many tournaments. More recently, Rivers has switched to the Switch Pro Controller for a more ergonomic control scheme and has begun to compete again in Ultimate.

He is currently affiliated with the American crew DMG Alliance, and was formerly part of Ocean County Smash. On November 29th, 2018, Mentality Esports signed Rivers to prepare for Super Smash Bros. Ultimate[1]. However, Mentality Esports shut down on March 17th, 2019, thus ending their sponsorship. Rivers joined team ZENMA on August 15th, 2019, along with many other smashers. He later left team ZENMA at an unknown date due to controversies with its CEO, false. Rivers joined Nevermore International on July 25th, 2020, later on May 28th, 2021, Nevermore International announced Rivers's departure[2].
