m (Actually CSR, I meant to say "Goblin" instead of Kola. Given that Goblin outplaced Kola by a significant margin at both Riptide and LTC, but Kola seems to peak higher, it's hard to call it definitively yet (although I would still favor Kola).) |

Kola, formerly known as Salt One, is a Super Smash Bros. Ultimate Roy player with Cloud and Snake secondaries from Duluth, Georgia. He is considered one of the two best Roy players in the world (along with Goblin) and one of the two best Cloud players in the world (along with Sparg0). He has wins over Maister, Marss, Dabuz, Elegant, Cosmos, WaDi, Wrath, and Abadango. Kola is currently ranked 1st on the Georgia Ultimate Power Rankings and 46th on the Fall 2019 PGRU. He is also considered one of the best online players and is an Honorable Mention on the Wi-Fi Warrior Rank v7 due to inactivity.
In Super Smash Bros. for Wii U, Kola is a Cloud main with a strong Captain Falcon secondary, and is currently the best Cloud main in Georgia and ranked 4th on the Georgia Smash 4 Power Rankings. He has taken sets off of top players such as Fatality, Locus, Light, ScAtt, Mew2King, and Sonido. He is known for his footstool combos as Cloud and has made a public video about them.
On December 21st, 2017, he joined FlySociety.[1] He and FlySociety parted ways two years later on December 31st, 2019.[2] He is currently a member of Moist Esports, an eSports team created by Cr1tikal.[3]
Playstyle
In Smash 4
In Smash 4, Kola employs a seek and punish playstyle, looking for opportunities to gain Limit. He looks for whiff punishes and tests his opponents approaches with Cross Slash. He prefers to stay in the air to call out jumps with up aerial. Although he plays from hit to hit, when he does land a move, his punish game is strong, seeking to push his advantage in any opening his opponent gives him.
In Ultimate
Kola is a very aggressive player who utilizes Roy’s fast movement, powerful attacks, and quick frame data to make him difficult to stop, which when combined with his top-notch parry and shielding game, makes his Roy formidable to face up-close. Kola utilizes his jab and aerials quite efficiently to combo into themselves or other tilts, which leads him to quickly chase the opponent offstage. This gives Kola’s Roy a dangerous presence off and onstage.
When using Cloud, Kola's playstyle does not change much, however, it is different in that he moves at a much faster pace and incorporates Blade Beam and forward aerial into his neutral. He still uses Cross Slash to test his opponent's reactions on shield. Due to Cloud's change in Limit when ported to Ultimate, he is a lot more liberal with using Blade Beam or Cross Slash to call out an opponent's dash or to protect his own landings. His Cloud has a particular trait of constantly looking to catch his opponent's double jump and to use Blade Beam to pressure opponents on the ledge.
Kola's Snake sets up Hand Grenades and C4 before quickly looking for a burst option with dash attack. His ability to seek out jumps is also shown in his Snake, which he uses neutral aerial and back aerial to stuff opponent's approaches. He also looks to poke with down tilt and to test opponent's reactions with forward tilt and grenade, similar to Cloud. Although Snake is considered to be a zoner, Kola is willing to approach and box with Snake's grounded options, making great use of grenades, tilts, and dash attacks to create openings for him to abuse.
