A common, run-of-the-mill cardboard box that is somehow very effective at preventing detection by enemies. Hide inside it and enemies will walk on by. But put it somewhere too odd and you'll be discovered. You can move while in the box, but if anyone sees the box moving, you're in trouble. Both Liquid and Solid Snake have a deep affection for cardboard.

  • On the Metal Gear REX trophy, the text states that Snake destroyed it. This is incorrect; he merely shut it down. In Metal Gear Solid 4, REX is restored to full functionality, sans railgun which was removed by Liquid Ocelot a few moments prior.
  • On the Grenade Launcher trophy, the grenades are bigger than the barrel. The barrel is also lacking a hole for the grenades to be launched out of.
  • It is possible to see Snake hiding within the Cardboard Box if one rotates the camera under the trophy. In fact, his eyes can be seen peering through the hole on the box at the standard angle.
  • The Cardboard Box trophy also states that both Liquid Snake and Solid Snake have a liking for cardboard, which is false since Liquid himself was never shown using any cardboard boxes. Big Boss, however, was.
  • Naked Snake's trophy depicts him wrapped in bandages, referencing the severe injuries he received after being beaten by The Boss and thrown into a raging river and after he was tortured by Colonel Volgin.
  • The Metal Gear RAY trophy depicts the manned Marines model (colored blue, as opposed to the orange and brown unmanned model).
  • The Shagohod trophy depicts its beige colored model from Operation Snake Eater (it is colored dark green during the Virtuous Mission prologue).
