Approaching attack

Jigglypuff's Rollout is an example of an approaching attack.

Approaching attacks are attacks that move the character a considerable distance while simultaneously having a damaging hitbox. Thus these attacks provide a safer approach than simply walking through offensive strategies. Also, most approach attacks are special moves, meaning they can be used for recovery.

• Fox, Falco, and Wolf's side special (Fox Illusion/Falco Phantasm/Wolf Flash)
• Captain Falcon and Ganondorf's side special (Raptor Boost/Gerudo Dragon/Flame Choke) and down special (Falcon Kick/Wizard's Foot)
• Sonic's Spin-Dash, Spin Charge, and Homing Attack
• Ice Climber's Squall Hammer when used sideways
• Luigi's Luigi Cyclone when used sideways and Green Missile
• Ike's Quick Draw
• Ness and Lucas's PK Thunder 2
• Meta Knight's Mach Tornado and Drill Rush
• Peach's Peach Bomber
• Pikachu and Pichu's Skull Bash
• Squirtle's Withdraw
• Wario's Wario Bike
• Zelda's Farore's Wind (SSBB only) (other teleportation moves are not included as they do not have a hitbox on re-entry, meaning it is not an offensive approach, and so not an Approach Attack).
