Smash Summit Spring 2017 (sometimes retroactively referred to as Smash Summit 4) as was a national Super Smash Bros. Melee invitational tournament and the fourth installment of the Smash Summit tournament series, held on March 2nd-5th, 2017. Like previous Smash Summits, it was held at the Summit gaming house, a private residence house in Los Angeles, California, and was closed to the general public.

- A Summit tournament organizer confirmed that the Summit team decided against numbering Smash Summit events after the third entry.[1] However, the fifth event was revealed to be named Smash Summit 5, returning to being numbered.
- Leffen's name was uncommonly placed as "L3ffen" on the first promotional image for the tournament, which happens to be how his YouTube and Instagram username is stylized.
- This tournament broke the seven-year record for the largest singles pot in all of Smash history at $51,444, beating Brawl at MLG Dallas 2010's $35,000.
